SECOND ACTS has confirmed an offer to air on Direct TV's dedicated short film channel called Shorts HD from a company called Shorts TV. ShortsTV is the global home of short movies, with the world's largest catalogue of high quality short movies available on TV, online and in theaters, and also produce original short film content for broadcasters and brands.
America's most respected TV mom, Michael Learned (THE WALTONS) looks back on the 45th Anniversary of The Waltons, while continuing to use her craft to raise awareness, just as Olivia Walton did, with new film SECOND ACTS, directed by Anya Adams (SCRUBS, THE WEST WING, CSI MIAMI, and BLACKISH) and produced by Gerry Pass (12 FEET DEEP). In spite of prejudices impressed on them growing up, Lee (Learned) and Ben (the late John Wesley) strike up a charming love affair over the course of an evening that was not allowed when they were in their youth, to discover love conquers all.
While waiting for a show to start at a theater, two strangers start a conversation. Both Lee and Ben are elderly and alone and are surprised to discover an easy and immediate connection to each other. After the show, Lee and Ben decide to spontaneously continue their evening together. As they talk into the night, the two septuagenarians open up about their pasts. They are shocked to discover how a long-ago era of racism has drastically altered the course of both of their lives but also profoundly grateful to have lived long enough to have a second chance at righting some panful wrongs.

Lisa Brennan-Jobs, is a smart, frank, and captivating coming-of-age memoir by the daughter of artist Chrisann Brennan and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Born on a farm and named in a field by her parents, Lisa Brennan-Jobs’s childhood unfolded in a rapidly changing Silicon Valley. When she was young, Lisa’s father was a mythical figure who was rarely present in her life. As she grew older, her father took an interest in her, ushering her into a new world of mansions, vacations, and private schools. His attention was thrilling, but he could also be cold, critical, and unpredictable. When her relationship with her mother grew strained in high school, Lisa decided to move in with her father, hoping he’d become the parent she’d always wanted him to be.
SMALL FRY is Brennan-Jobs’s poignant story of childhood and growing up. Scrappy, wise, and funny, young Lisa is an unforgettable guide, marveling at the particular magic of growing up in this family, in this place and time, while grappling with her feelings of illegitimacy and shame. Part portrait of a complex family, part love letter to California in the seventies and eighties, SMALL FRY is an enthralling story by an insightful new literary voice.

It seems impossible to believe – but it is true.  Measles cases have reached their highest level in nearly 30 years, as reported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just last week.  The last time the US experienced this many measles cases was in 1992.
We all know, measles is a disease that can be prevented by a vaccine, but convincing every family to vaccinate is another matter.  David K. Randall is a senior reporter at Reuters and the author of the New York Times best-seller Dreamland and The King and Queen of Malibu.  His latest book is BLACK DEATH AT THE GOLDEN GATE: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague (W. W. Norton & Company; May 7, 2019) – where he highlights the history of a disease outbreak that continued until – similar to measles – health officials were able to convince people to do something about the circumstances that were fostering the disease.  In 1900 it was new sanitation and changing the way people lived.  Today, health officials are tasked with convincing large populations – especially those living in cities – that vaccinating against measles is the best way to and these deadly outbreaks.

In 2014, Shane Bauer was hired for $9 an hour to work as an entry-level prison guard at a private prison in Winnfield, Louisiana. An award-winning investigative journalist for Mother Jones, he used his real name; there was no meaningful background check. Bauer applied for the job because he wanted an unconstrained look at the inner workings of an industry that holds some 130,000 of our nation’s 1.5 million prisoners and is deliberately unaccountable to public scrutiny. Four months later, his employment came to an abrupt end. But he had seen enough, and in the summer of 2016, Mother Jones published Bauer’s blockbuster cover feature about his experiences at Winn Correctional Center. It won a National Magazine Award and became the most-read feature in the history of the magazine.
Still, there was much more that Bauer needed to say. In AMERICAN PRISON: A Reporter’s Undercover Journey into the Business of Punishment, now available in paperback (Penguin Books; on sale June 11, 2019), Bauer interweaves a deeper reckoning with his time as a prison guard with the shameful history of for-profit prisons in the U.S. We can’t understand the cruelty of our current system and its place in the larger story of mass incarceration without understanding where it came from. He begins with private prisons’ origins in the decades before the Civil War; how they became entrenched in the South as part of a systemic effort to keep the African-American labor force in place in the aftermath of slavery by leasing prisoners to plantations and private companies; examines their modern-day rise in the 1980s with the creation of the Corrections Corporation of America, the world’s first private prison company; and brings us to today, when the Trump administration has expanded their use, specifically with private immigration jails.

In reporting his story, Bauer brought firsthand experience of the nightmares of imprisonment: in 2009, he and two other young Americans went hiking in Iraqi Kurdistan and unknowingly crossed into Iran. They were captured, and Bauer was held for over two grueling years in Iran’s Evin prison. At Winn, Bauer grapples with sympathy for the inmates—for whom private prisons are not incentivized to provide adequate health care or feed well—and the plight of the prison guards, who are severely understaffed, rarely receive raises, and deal with constant turnover. “Cost-effectiveness” reigns over everything. The chronic dysfunction of the guards’ lives only adds to the prison’s sense of

200 years ago, white people told black folks, "'I suggest you pick the cotton if you don't like getting whipped." Today, it's "comply with police orders if you don't want to get shot." Now comedian/activist D. L. Hughley-one the Original Kings of Comedy-confronts and remixes white people's "advice" in this "hilarious examination of the current state of race relations in the United States" (Publishers Weekly).
In America, a black man is three times more likely to be killed in encounters with police than a white guy. If only he had complied with the cop, he might be alive today, pundits say in the aftermath of the latest shooting of an unarmed black man. Or, Maybe he shouldn't have worn that hoodie . or, moved more slowly . not been out so late . Wait, why are black people allowed to drive, anyway?
This isn't a new phenomenon. White people have been giving "advice" to black folks for as long as anyone can remember, telling them how to pick cotton, where to sit on a bus, what neighborhood to live in, when they can vote, and how to wear our pants. Despite centuries of whites' advice, it seems black people still aren't listening, and the results are tragic.
Now, at last, activist, comedian, and New York Times bestselling author D. L. Hughley offers How Not to Get Shot, an illustrated how-to guide for black people, full of insight from white people, translated by one of the funniest black dudes on the planet. In these pages you will learn how to act, dress, speak, walk, and drive in the safest manner possible. You also will finally understand the white mind. It is a book that can save lives. Or at least laugh through the pain.
Black people: Are you ready to not get shot! White people: Do you want to learn how to help the cause? Let's go!

It was love at first sight when Tembi met professional chef, Saro, on a street in Florence. There was just one problem: Saro’s traditional Sicilian family did not approve of him marrying a black American woman, an actress no less. However, the couple, heartbroken but undeterred, forges on. They build a happy life in Los Angeles, with fulfilling careers, deep friendships and the love of their lives: a baby girl they adopt at birth. Eventually, they reconcile with Saro’s family just as he faces a formidable cancer that will consume all their dreams.

From Scratch chronicles three summers Tembi spends in Sicily with her daughter, Zoela, as she begins to piece together a life without her husband in his tiny hometown hamlet of farmers. Where once Tembi was estranged from Saro’s family and his origins, now she finds solace and nourishment—literally and spiritually—at her mother in law’s table. In the Sicilian countryside, she discovers the healing gifts of simple fresh food, the embrace of a close knit community, and timeless traditions and wisdom that light a path forward. All along the way she reflects on her and Saro’s incredible romance—an indelible love story that leaps off the pages.

In Sicily, it is said that every story begins with a marriage or a death—in Tembi Locke’s case, it is both. Her story is about loss, but it’s really about love found. Her story is about travel, but it’s really about finding a home. It is about food, but it’s really about chasing flavor as an act of remembrance. From Scratch is for anyone who has dared to reach for big love, fought for what mattered most, and needed a powerful reminder that life is…delicious.

ABC announced today that King of the Highwire Nik Wallenda and his sister, Lijana, seventh generation members of the Wallenda family circus troupe, will return to the highwire for a never before-attempted walk of approximately 1,300 feet long and 25 stories above street level, across New York City's iconic Times Square, live on SUNDAY, JUNE 23 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT). "Highwire Live in Times Square with Nik Wallenda" will air as a live two-hour televised event. The walk marks Lijana Wallenda's first highwire walk since the 2017 accident where she, along with four others, tragically fell 30 feet off a tightrope during a rehearsal.
The 1,300-foot-long walk will take place 25 stories high between the famed 1 Times Square and 2 Times Square. Nik and Lijana will start from opposite ends of the wire, meet and cross in the middle of Times Square, then continue to finish opposite of where they started. The must-see live event will also feature video footage of the Wallendas' history, preparation and exclusive interviews.
"It's hard enough crossing Times Square on the ground, try it 25 stories up," said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. "ABC is the destination for big live events that become cultural moments and Nik and Lijana will surely create one as they complete this never-before-attempted walk."
"In 1928, my family performed at Madison Square Garden in the City of Dreams for the first time in the USA," said Nik Wallenda. "And on June 23, I have the great opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of my own by paying homage to that performance as we return for my most exhilarating feat yet. I am beyond excited to be able to walk with my sister, Lijana, as she overcomes near-death injuries and continues the Wallenda tradition of never giving up!"
Nik Wallenda is the seventh-generation of the Great Wallendas who trace their roots back over 200 years to the Austro-Hungarian empire. For Nik, every walk is an expression of honor to his great grandfather, the legendary Karl Wallenda who brought the Wallendas to America from Germany to perform in The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Nik's previous live televised events include two hugely successful television events: walking across Niagara Falls in June 2012 and the Grand Canyon in June 2013. He holds 10 Guinness World Records.
Lijana Wallenda was one of five performers who fell off a highwire tightrope while attempting an eight-person pyramid stunt during a Circus Sarasota rehearsal in 2017. Lijana was severely injured and has been recovering ever since. The Times Square walk will be the first time she's gotten back on the tightrope for a performance since her accident.
"Highwire Live in Times Square with Nik Wallenda" is produced by dick clark productions. Gretchen Eisele, Mark Bracco, Linda Gierahn, David Simone, Winston Simone, Shelley Ross and Nik Wallenda are executive producers.

Dr. Amy Blackstone, a nationally recognized expert on the childfree choice, seeks to set the record straight with her upcoming book, CHILDFREE BY CHOICE: The Movement Redefining Family and Creating a New Age of Independence (Dutton; June 11, 2019), a definitive investigation into the history and current growing movement of adults choosing to forgo parenthood.
CHILDFREE BY CHOICE strips away many common misconceptions, revealing the radical notion that support of the childfree can lead to better lives and societies for all.
When she was growing up, Dr. Amy Blackstone always assumed that her life would eventually include having children. As the years passed, though, the urge to become a mother never arrived. Blackstone, a sociology professor at the University of Maine, now confidently and happily identifies as childfree by choice. She and her husband, Lance, created their blog we're {not} having a baby to share their experiences and connect with other adults who were choosing to forgo parenthood, and what they found was a diverse, fascinating, welcoming community that consistently defied stereotypes about adults who choose not to have children.
Motivated by her own experiences and those of the childfree community she has connected with, Blackstone has become a nationally recognized expert of the childfree choice who has conducted research on the subject since 2008.

Following the global success of her seven-book fantasy series Septimus Heap, best-selling author Angie Sage is back with a brand-new fantasy novel, Maximillian Fly. The absorbing and darkly humorous book tells the story of Maximillian Fly—a human with cockroach features—whose quiet life is upended when he aids two human children in their escape from an oppressive governing power.

Maximillian Fly wants no trouble. Yet because he stands at six feet two, with beautiful indigo wings, long antennae, and multiple arms, many are frightened of him. This gentle creature -- who looks like a giant cockroach -- wants to prove his goodness, so he opens his door to two SilverSeed children in search of a place to hide. Instantly, Maximillian’s quiet, solitary life changes. There are dangerous powers after them and they have eyes everywhere. But in this gray city of Hope trapped under the Orb, is escape even possible?

Maximillian Fly is a masterful story brimming with suspense, plot twists, and phenomenal world building. This compelling novel delves into family dynamics and themes of prejudice, making the case for tolerance, empathy, and understanding.

When we were working on putting together the record, Thom had brought up the idea to Chris of him playing on a track, and somehow it all worked out. Add some killer solos from Chris Poland, onto a song that already features Mark Tremonti, Dave McClain, and Eric AK from Flotsam, and you can only imagine how incredible it came out. It’s truly an epic collaboration, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.”

"Always Amazing..." tells the story of The Amazing Johnathan's storied career, his unlikely friendship with a 12 year old fan, Joel Ozborn, who he met on tour in Australia, and the terminal diagnosis that brought them back together for one last run of shows.

The film begins with Johnathan’s career ascent, from bombing at his high school talent show, discovering and honing his act as a magician and comic while working as a street performer in San Francisco and the one showcase that launched his career at the famed Hollywood Improv.

While on tour in Australia, Johnathan meets Joel Ozborn, a 12 year old who is starstruck with the performer from the states.  An improbable bond is fortified over the years, as Joel becomes an employee, apprentice, alibi, confidant and brother/son/friend to Johnathan.  Once Johnathan establishes a residency in Las Vegas as a headliner, the trappings of Sin City become overwhelming, leaving a divorce in his wake and ultimately testing the strength of his friendship with Joel.  Their eventual parting becomes inevitable as Johnathan comes out of the fog stronger and richer than before and Joel matures into a world wise man and the comedian he’s aspired to be since he first saw Johnathan all those years ago in Australia.

As life goes on, Johnathan is diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and his doctors give him a year to live.  In the time that follows, Johnathan is living life knowing he’s on borrowed time but after outliving expectations by 3 years, Johnathan decides he’s going to hit the road, one last time to see if he’s still got it.   And if he is going back on the road for the last time, Jonathan wants Joel along for the ride.  This decision forces these two emotionally introverted men to look back on their friendship and confront the ups and downs of their experiences together.

Episode 12: What Makes You Original On The Over Saturated Stage?

You know what’s fun about doing this Pod-Crashing thing?  It’s about being real.  Having a generic attitude of community rather than burying yourself inside the four walls of a major conglomeration trying to dominate a ratings war.
I’ve been there.  Oh the stress.  The endless amount of meetings that normally went nowhere except to agree to meeting again next week.  It was never my career.  It was their music, liner cards and listener giveaways.  In reality I’m shocked they didn’t ask me to bring back every radio station t-shirt, jacket or cap.
Keep in mind it wasn’t my radio career.  The only thing I owned was the choice to stay.
I’m gonna be upfront and honest.  I didn’t get into podcasting because there was this huge bolt of lightning shot through space.  I was in that place where the broadcasting business didn’t know what they hell to do with me.  I quit market hopping which meant the scent of my performance was making me come across as that old guy that’ll probably die with the ship.
Coming off the air to do imaging and commercial production was a stinger.  You think you’ve got the strength to maintain a healthy lifestyle cuz it’s all connected but wow that’s like telling Paul McCartney he’s got a new job on the road.  The roadie.
I fell into the podcasting hole by total accident.  I happen to be walking down and hall and heard someone talking to the morning show, “You guys need to look at putting your best of shows up on the internet.  New technology puts you on the listener’s smart phone.  Listening on demand.”
My lost dreams suddenly shot to life.  WTF?  The morning show wanted nothing to do with it.  My radio driven soul wanted to Rock n Roll.  Then Bob Pitman of iHeart Media mentioned in a meeting that podcasting was a brave new beginning that required real radio people to bring its quality to the game.
Oh my God I was on my way!   Yeah right.  I had no clue what I was doing!  More importantly what could I write, produce and perform all in the name of being attractive to global ears?  I’ve always been addicted to being original.  So original that it earned me a radio freak label.  He’s too weird, too wild, un-coachable.
I just knew it was a performance.  The question I faced in 2013 is no different today.  What am I going to do that isn’t already being done?
I’m the exact opposite of Randy Bachman’s quote, “You only see my hits not my misses.”
In this stage of the podcast game there’ve been so many swings at the plate that I’ve taken on the image of a drone.  Swoosh!  Swoosh!  Swoosh!  Thank God I’ve got a big fat ego.  It’s the only thing keeping me grounded.
Let me ask the question again, “What Makes You Original On The Over Saturated Stage?”
I don’t do sports.  TMZ has tired the world out with gossip.  Music updates are ok but not unique enough for this wild new digital frontier.  I know!  I’ll do interviews!  I’ll talk with anyone that says yes.  What I needed was practice.  Podcast listeners make a huge choice to somehow someway find their way onto your platform. The goal is to get them to keep coming back.
For that to happen those content consuming junkies need a relationship with a payoff.  It was time for me to become them.  How could I build a bigger better show if I wasn’t wearing the same shoes?  It was time to drop tower radio listening and hook up the blue tooth!
I know what I like and I know what I’ll never return to.  Digital on Demand has turned me into a spoiled snot.  Give me what I want!  I need my fix.  Honestly the cool thing about being a podcast listener is the variety of choice.  It doesn’t bother me to see there are 8 billion movie review channels.  Toss in another 12 zillion medical and murder mystery adventures.  There’s so much out there that I feel like the space shuttle busting tail through all those stars.
What Makes You Original On The Over Saturated Stage?
Exactly that!  Keep searching.  Bust open a can of overworked with no pay and play the game like it’s your last day on the planet.   Warning.  I know you like certain things in life and love to share the journey but don’t back into a stereotyped image.  Let me give you an example.  I jocked on a few Adult Contemporary radio stations from 1985 to 2012.  The Classic Rock and New Rock stations wouldn’t give me an on-air shift because my name was connected to Michael Bolton, Rod Stewart and Phil Collins.
With podcasting what makes you an original will be your original way of bringing a ton of content to life.  Study the path that Mike Rowe has taken.  The dude has his hands in everything.
So what’s the moral of the story?  The only person that can invite originality to your podcast is you and it’s probably not going to come in the shape of what we already do.  Through wide open space practicing and commitment combined with loyalty you’ll find your voice.  It’s not going to happen overnight.
Never stop testing the waters.  Create several different podcast platforms and cross-pollinate.  Through show prep and careful planning one single interview can be featured on several different shows.  Every time I talk with YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa our conversations go to my Kids show, music as well as writing.  If she’s marketing something or talks about food those shows get the upload as well.
It’s no different than Taylor Swift hitting every music format.  Your podcast can do it too!

25 years after the "Trial of the Century" Kim Goldman, sister of murder victim Ron Goldman, is digging deep into the vicious crime that changed her life, and many others, forever. Thrust into the public eye at the age of 22, Kim was devastated when OJ Simpson was found not guilty of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her brother Ron. There has been much debate and confusion about what really happened the night of those brutal murders and for the first time Kim gets answers to questions that have been haunting her since the trial. She sits down with prosecutors, investigators, witnesses who never got to speak and jurors who voted not guilty. In this 10 part series, Kim takes you on a journey as she reclaims and reflects on the part of her life that was changed permanently. The podcast debuts June 12th.
TALKING POINTS FOR KIM GOLDMAN AND CONFRONTING OJ SIMPSON * The girl Ron loved speaks publicly for the first time, and shares the plans she and Ron had the night of the murders. She explains why she has carried so much guilt for 25 years. (She thinks she might have changed the outcome of that evening.)
* Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark confronts the reasons she pulled away from my father and me during the trial and how she feels about it now.
* Chris Darden shares what he has carried with him: the debt he feels like he owes our family, what the prosecution team could have done differently, and we confront the anger and sadness over the injustice surrounding this case
* Chris Darden gives me advice on what to say if I have the opportunity to confront OJ Simpson face-to-face. And let's just say I can't repeat it on a family friendly show.
*We learn about the sleazy ways people have merchandised the murders of Ron and Nicole, which started during the trial and still continue to this day.
* I confront two jurors who voted to acquit O.J. Simpson of my brother's murder to ask if they would vote the same way today, (even with all of the additional evidence that was shown during the civil trial.)
* Nicole's friend and witness Kato Kaelin confronts his experience testifying at the trial. It clearly still bothers him that he was treated as a hostile witness by Marcia Clark.
* A witness, who saw Simpson driving near the murder scene and sold her story to a tabloid TV show, tells me why it was the biggest mistake of her life. Plus the real reason she sold her story
* I go back to the LA County Superior Courthouse, where Simpson was tried for the murders, for the first time in 25 years. I revisit those halls and ghosts with one of the prosecutors from the case to confront the memories of when I was 22 and still expecting justice for Ron.
* Ron Hardy, who was a friend of Nicole and OJ and even knew about their domestic issues, tells me why he had to keep it to himself.
* The ghost writer of the pseudo-confessional "If I Did It" tells us why he wrote that book with O.J. Simpson and what happened once they were alone in a room together. (Pablo told Simpson he thought he was guilty and Simpson raged.)

Are workers worried they’ll be displaced by robots in the future? Not for the most part, new research from global staffing firm Robert Half shows. Only 12% of workers are concerned that artificial intelligence (AI) and automation will have a negative impact on their job, and 49% foresee no effect at all.

But futurists and staffing experts interviewed for Robert Half’s new report, Jobs and AI Anxiety, believe emerging technologies are profoundly shifting the workplace. According to more than 1,200 business leaders surveyed for the research, one of the top ways technological advancements will affect jobs is they will require new skills from employees.

“There’s no question new technology will continue to transform jobs in all industries, from finance and accounting to legal and marketing — and professionals need to embrace and stay ahead of changes,” said Paul McDonald, senior executive director for Robert Half. “Employees who are committed to learning about and preparing for advancements in the workplace will be best positioned for success.”

5B is stirringly told through first-person testimony of these nurses and caregivers who built Ward 5B in 1983 at San Francisco General Hospital, their patients, loved ones, and staff who volunteered to create care practices based in humanity and holistic well-being during a time of great uncertainty. The result is an uplifting yet candid and bittersweet monument to a pivotal moment in American history and a celebration of quiet heroes, nurses and caregivers worthy of renewed recognition.

The documentary will support (RED)’s fight to end AIDS, with a portion of 5B’s net proceeds going to support the work of the Global Fund – the recipient of all (RED) monies. Muñoz is a (RED) ambassador and very connected to the cause.

Over the last ten years, Investigation Discovery received countless calls and emails from viewers seeking help with unsolved homicide cases. The network’s answer to those requests came in the form of the hit series Breaking Homicide, which returns for its second season. Breaking Homicide follows former Rhode Island Police Sergeant Derrick Levasseur as he investigates cases from desperate families who are still searching for justice.

Chasing down new clues and reexamining old ones, Levasseur re-evaluates each case with fresh eyes and the benefit of more advanced technology, applying his unique experiences as an undercover detective to meticulously dissect each case from top to bottom. Levasseur scours the locations of each crime for new information, sitting down with the original investigators, friends and families of the victims to try to uncover new clues that could solve these cases once and for all.

Derrick Levasseur is a decorated police sergeant from Central Falls, Rhode Island. Hired at only twenty years old, he was one of the youngest officers in the department’s history and worked in the Patrol Division, Detective Division and later the Special Investigations Unit as an undercover detective, where he worked with the ATF, DEA, FBI, and US Secret Service. Throughout his career, Derrick received multiple awards, including the Medal of Valor, which is the highest honor a sworn officer can receive. In 2017, he was the recipient of the American Red Cross “Hero Award” after saving seven people from a burning building. Derrick’s newly published first book, The Undercover Edge, reached #1 in New Releases in the first five days.

Natasha Scripture

<a class="spreaker-player" href="https://www.spreaker.com/episode/18236571" data-resource="episode_id=18236571" data-width="100%" data-height="350px" data-theme="dark" data-playlist="show" data-playlist-continuous="true" data-autoplay="false" data-live-autoplay="false" data-chapters-image="true" data-episode-image-position="right" data-hide-logo="true" data-hide-likes="false" data-hide-comments="false" data-hide-sharing="false" data-hide-download="false" >Listen to "Natasha Scripture Releases Man Fest" on Spreaker.</a><script async src="https://widget.spreaker.com/widgets.js"></script>

Despite the pressures from her wonderful, but overbearing Indian mother to find a man and settle down, Natasha Scripture wasn’t ready to get married. Nor did she want work in an office pushing papers. She wanted an exciting, globetrotting career. So when she landed her dream job as an aid worker for the United Nations, her addiction to adrenaline and fear of committing to one place, or person, was with her for the ride. But it all took a turn when her father became ill and she made the choice to remove herself from the frontlines, taking a job at UN headquarters in New York to be closer to him.
Recognizing her privileged upbringing, Natasha wanted to connect with people and the world in a whole new way. Fed up with her demanding career, and the pressure to “settle down,” and “find a man,” Natasha decides to go on a "man fast." Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds.
After the death of her father, she realized she needed to do some soul-searching, to turn inward, and to do that, she needed to do what you could call a cleanse, ridding herself of anything standing in the way of her self-discovery. Men were at the top of the list.
Natasha spreads her spiritual journey across 4 continents and MAN FAST takes her from meditating in an Ayurvedic ashram in southern India to toiling on a vineyard on Mount Etna to going on a solo-safari in a game reserve in southern Tanzania (where she also marries herself—yes, it’s a thing).         With chapters tied to actionable themes—Allowing, Surrendering, Committing, Connecting, and Being—her book is an antidote to a culture that prizes finding the right man and settling down into a conventional pattern over taking the time to know and live and love your true self.
