I talk to myself.  A lot!  Sometimes it’s good.  Other times outside people might think a military sergeant lives within the making of the mind body and soul.  If you really want to get serious, sitting on this computer pouring thoughts onto a screen is no different than giving your inner voices a reason to be seen, heard and experienced.  On this podcast episode we talk about how your greatest tool is that person we all talk to. You!  When I was a child people always warned me, “Talking to yourself is the first step toward insanity.”  Awesome!  What I don’t have is a split personality.  Toni Collette on the Showtime series United States of Tara does though!  Wow!  A brilliant binge watch on HULU!  No split personality for me.  I do though have the awareness of knowing of what’s taking place in the presence of Now.  Which project will get what personality of their own?  A voice, a say, the strength, a willingness to accept challenge and change defeat and new growth.  Walking into any moment should come with a requirement.  An expectation.  You should be held accountable.  I will not jump off a cliff.  Which is pretty weird because as that crazy teen I had no problem jumping off our house into the dirt.  No cliffs for me.  And yet throughout my forty one year broadcast career more radio decision makers felt they needed to tell me “To get where you want to be you need to leap.  In order to go up.  You have to go down.”  The question will always remain “What are you willing to give up?”  If you give up too much.  You’re going back down.  Sitting alone inside a radio station studio for all these years is probably why I’ve built up that relationship with the inner voice.  We’re all doubters.  We all have fear, guilt, shame and whatever else is moving through us during these endless Covid-19 days and nights.  60,000 new cases were reported in the United States yesterday.  60,000!   A seventeen year old girl in Florida passed away.  She attended a church event packed with 100 people.  Her mother was a nurse!  How about that voice in your head?  Doesn’t always match the voice in your heart.  What about the voice in your stomach?  Now add every single voice around you in human form.  One of the main reasons why people don’t stick with meditating on a daily and nightly basis is due 100 percent to that damn voice that won’t go away!  Yep.  The Real Monsters of America should be a Netflix drama series.  Why on earth would I want you to put energy in developing a relationship with something totally invisible but unbelievably loud?  Because that voice also has the ability to invite calm.  Get to know that voice.  Understand why it has to look like a pissed off Pennywise from IT.  What makes that voice happy?  What are the signs of it reaching out to punch you hard?  Calm…  When you make friends with that voice it treats your relationship with love.  That voice only wants attention.  It’s no different than you.  Because on the outside of your skin your voice is a lot of noise to other.  Walking in peace begins with self.  Enjoy the journey…
