Author Luke Nichter Nixon Tapes

Is it a piece of history ever American should keep or is it just another form of invading a past Presidents life? From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with author Luke Nichter with Nixon Tapes. The famous -- and infamous -- Nixon White House tapes that reveal for the first time President Richard Nixon uncensored, unfiltered, and in his own words. President Nixon's voice-activated taping system captured every word spoken in the Oval Office, Cabinet Room, and other key locations in the White House, and at Camp David -- 3,700 hours of recordings between 1971 and 1973. Yet less than 5 percent of those conversations have ever been transcribed and published. Now, thanks to professor Luke Nichter's massive effort to digitize and transcribe the tapes, the world can finally read an unprecedented account of one of the most important and controversial presidencies in U.S. history. The Nixon Tapes offers a selection of fascinating scenes from the year Nixon opened relations with China, negotiated the SALT I arms agreement with the Soviet Union, and won a landslide reelection victory. All the while, the growing shadow of Watergate and Nixon's political downfall crept ever closer. The Nixon Tapes provides a never-before-seen glimpse into a flawed president's hubris, paranoia, and political genius.

Guitarist Brian Ray from The Bayonets

Paul McCartney's guitarist fronts the Boyonets. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Brian Ray The Bayonets’ guitarist and lead vocalist Brian Ray is known worldwide for his musical contributions to the Paul McCartney Band, who continue on a massive arena & stadium tour this summer. “I've been a very lucky man to work alongside Paul McCartney for 12 years now. Suffice it to say, this perch on which I find myself working with Paul - as well as his generosity of spirit - gives me the space, time, and wherewithal to indulge my wildest sonic dream life in my spare time,“ Brian reflected, “pulling these musical ideas out of the clear blue sky with my friends, so that we can hopefully move people and rock out with them with reckless abandon. For me, rock and roll needs to stay dangerous and fun. I wanted that sense of adventure and camaraderie, and I found it with my good friend and songwriting partner, Oliver Leiber.” Drummer Oliver Leiber is well known for playing guitar and recording songs for some of the biggest artists in the business, including Rod Stewart, among many others. Speaking of the band, Oliver said, “it grew organically out of a very simple desire on Brian's and my part to do a musical project that wasn't trying to be anything. We simply wanted to write songs without judging if they were ‘hits’ or if they would fit into a certain musical radio format. We wanted to write songs that were reflective of who we are as men and artists at this point in our lives. Most of all, we really just wanted to have some fun and rock out! The Bayonets grew out of a desire to get back in touch with the days when I just played music for music's sake.” Crash Boom Bang! was mixed by Joe Zook (Katy Perry, OneRepublic, Pink, Faith Hill and others). The accompanying video was directed by Linda Cevallos-French & Brian French. Crash Boom Bang! was produced by Brian Ray and Oliver Leiber. "We are thrilled to be a part of such a great rock record," says Robo Records president Rob Christie. Debuting in 1988 following ABC’s broadcast of Super Bowl XXII, the affectionate look at growing up in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s in suburban America was unlike anything else on television. And, for the next six seasons, America tuned in to follow the exploits of Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage), as he navigated adolescence in the most memorable of ways. Never before released on DVD in its entirety, THE WONDER YEARS COMPLETE SERIES will be presented as a 26-disc collector’s set featuring all 115 episodes housed in a replica metal locker, along with a host of extras including 15 hours of specially-produced bonus programming ---featurettes, an incredible cast reunion 16 years in the making and never-before-seen outtakes, including all takes of Kevin and Winnie’s first kiss from the pilot episode. THE WONDER YEARS COMPLETE SERIES will be available exclusively online, available now for pre-order at TimeLife.com/WonderYears for $249.95. It was 1968 -- the year of Nixon and space walks and Mod Squad and Vietnam. Enter Kevin Arnold (Savage), a sixth grader at Kennedy Junior High School. Set against the suburban backdrop of Anytown, USA, Kevin sought to minimize his teenage angst while dealing with an older, noogie-happy brother Wayne (Jason Hervey), a rebellious sister, Karen (Olivia d'Abo), distant, workaholic father, Jack (Dan Lauria) and doting housewife mother, Norma (Alley Mills). Add to the mix Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano), his nerdy, allergy-riddled best friend, a potential love interest in winsome girl-next-door Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) and narration by an older, wiser, wittier Kevin (voiced by Daniel Stern) to add perspective to the nostalgia, and you have the perfect recipe for TV greatness. With 28 million viewers tuning in to ABC for the first episode, all it took was one kiss between Kevin and Winnie to get audiences hooked on this series created by the husband-and-wife duo Neal Marlens and Carol Black. From 1988 to 1993, The Wonder Years was one of the most popular shows on TV, achieving a spot in the Nielsen Top 30 for four of its six seasons. And the critical accolades and awards would follow: after only a scant six episodes, the show captured an Emmy® for “Best Comedy Series;” and, at the age of 13, Fred Savage, would become the youngest actor ever nominated as “Outstanding Lead Actor for a Comedy Series.” The series would also go on to win 24 awards (and be nominated for 70 more), including multiple Emmy® Awards, a Golden Globe® and, in 1989, a Peabody® Award for pushing the boundaries of the sitcom format and using new modes of storytelling. Additionally, in 1997, “My Father’s Office" was ranked #29 on TV Guide’s “100 Greatest Episodes of All Time” and in the 2009 list, the pilot episode was ranked #43. Suffice it to say, The Wonder Years was one of the most critically lauded sitcoms of the late 80s and early 90s. An integral part of The Wonder Years was its use of classic period music, so to release the series to the consumer marketplace, StarVista Entertainment/Time painstakingly cleared over 300 songs as they were featured in the original broadcast. Included among the hundreds of memorable, era-defining recordings are Joe Cocker’s iconic title song, “With A Little Help From My Friends,” plus songs by Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, Smokey Robinson, The Who, Aretha Franklin, Carole King and many others.

Carissa Leigh

Country Music with a Bad Boy attitude. The type of guy you don't take home to your Mom. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with newcomer Carissa Leigh Carissa Leigh brings true heart to country music. The Calgary-born and Nashville-based singer and songwriter draws from a diverse and dynamic myriad of life experiences on her forthcoming sophomore EP. How many artists can boast of studying Tahitian dance and anthropology at college in Hawaii in between traveling the globe as part of an internationally-renowned choir, or enjoying a career stint as a professional photographer in New York City with photos landing in Glamour and Cosmopolitan? All of those moments inform the roller coaster ride captured in her music. Growing up in Canada, she discovered music at a young age, splitting her time between dad’s rock ‘n’ roll records and granddad’s country catalog. That essentially paved the way for her to cultivate a style of her own later on. “I want to make an album that sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd had a baby with Dolly Parton,” smiles Carissa. “It’s country with a little bit of rock and pop. It’s everything that I love.” In pursuit of that sound, Carissa relocated to Nashville in 2013. With her young daughter in tow, she immersed herself within the fabric of music city, catching the attention of some of the town’s leading songwriters and producers. She hit the studio with everybody from Tone Def [Santana, Michelle Branch] to Brian White [Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts] and Clay Mills [Darius Rucker], releasing one EP that year. Recorded at the legendary Blackbird Studios, her 2014 lead-off single “Bad Boy” speaks to a universal desire. The track’s music video was helmed by Kristin Barlowe [Luke Bryan, Martina McBride]. With its slick guitar twang and unforgettable refrain, she talks about the one thing every girl wants. “We were just talking about relationships,” she goes on. “A girls says she wants a nice guy, but she doesn’t really want a nice guy. Every girl wants to date a bad boy, and all guys want to be the bad boy too!” However, her songs cover the entire emotional spectrum from pensive and poetic to bombastic and boisterous. “It all starts with the song,” she goes on. “Part of your personality wants to fall in love. Part of you wants to be single. I just want to explore different aspects of relationships. I’ve had so many different experiences, and it’s important for me to reflect those in the music.” That’s why she’s immediately connected with fans and tastemakers. CMT, Country Music Aircheck, The Daily Country, Got Country, and Country Music Matters have all been early champions. Online, she also launched the groundbreaking ultimate #BadBoy campaign online allowing thousands of fans to “make your own mugshot”. In the end, Carissa welcomes everyone into her world. “I want everybody to go on this journey with me,” she concludes. “We’ve all had our own experiences, and we can share the same feelings along the way.” http://carissaleigh.com/

Native Run

Pegging Show Dog-Universal Music country duo Native Run is tougher than it might seem. "Very instrument-driven with acoustic guitar, banjo and mandolin," suggests the pair's Rachel Beauregard. "Country themes and very sing-able choruses." Bryan Dawley, her partner in music, appends, "We value songs that take common experiences and translate them in new and interesting ways. Things like love, heartache and life, but with our fingerprint on them." Getting closer. Maybe an understanding of some influences would help. "We really admire Keith Urban and Chris Thile (of Nickel Creek), because we gravitate toward exceptional playing, melodic hooks and vocals that really connect," Beauregard continues. "We love layers of sound and melodies ... a lot of that comes from bluegrass, as well as Bryan's classical training. It adds up to a very unique sound." Unique, how? Perhaps a bona fide expert could provide context. "They are such a mix in terms of the acoustic instrumentation and popular sensibilities," says GRAMMY-winning producer Luke Laird (Kacey Musgraves). "Instantly, it just made sense that it could have mass appeal." Finally, some clarity. Now all Native Run needs is a snappy catchphrase. Something simple, like – organic, acoustic, musically smart, powerful, playful-yet-heartfelt arena rock country music. http://nativerunmusic.com/

Daryl Brown My Father The Godfather

The book will be released simultaneously with the Universal Studios biographical film "Get on Up" produced by Mick Jagger and Brian Grazer to be released in theaters on August 1st 2014. Chase Bryant

Country Music is on the move. The songwriter's have been given a new stage to set up a new age. Introducing new comer Chase Bryant. Music defines Chase Bryant. At every level and in often unexpected ways, his truths are expressed in melody, lyrics, hooks and sounds … but his reality goes even deeper than that. Bryant’s heritage is defined by music. His upbringing, his craft, his inspiration and his obsessions are all centered in the same – which is good – because there’s no other way to explain how a 21-year-old Texan could already be a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter, RED BOW recording artist and co-producer of his debut album. Bryant focuses his muse on the commonalities people share. “We all have a destination,” he says. “We all have dreams we want to follow. I’m no different than anybody else, I just sing about it. It’s my job to put the party on and give people a good reason to have fun.” And that he does, whether it’s in the soaring groove of “Summertime Saturday High,” the sparkling “Fire,” unabashed romanticism of “Change Your Name” or the vocally-charged, guitar-shredding debut single “Take It On Back.”

Songwriter Brian Sullivan

What is songwriting? Some would call it poetry while the masters of modern day success have named it words-man-ship. The art of being alive is having the opportunity to document it. The scale wasn't designed for judgment but rather the weight of how much of our soul we allow ourselves to pour into the dreams that keep us awake late at night. I've done radio for 35 years. Not because I've got the passion to become a disc jockey. I write. Words. Words that need a place to be displayed. You think I'm alone? You're crazy. Julia Cameron says it best, "We were all born to write." Which is the reason why I love bumping into creative hearts connected to vividly energetic minds. It takes a lot of guts to take a calling and turn it into sight, sound and smell. Even if one person touches it... Job well done.

MMA Fighter Mark Fightshark Miller Pain Don't Hurt

Sometimes you've gotta rip off the black belts and hit the canvas. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with MMA Fighter Mark Fightshark Miller In 2007, despite being born with a congenital heart defect and Type 1 Diabetes, Mark Miller was a rising star in professional kickboxing- handsome, hard-charging, and a winner. But when a routine physical uncovered a serious heart condition, he was barred from competing. He needed an open heart procedure that would save his life--and end his career. Miller’s dramatic and life-saving surgery also worked to reunite his fractured family, and shortly after his release from the hospital, he began training again, refusing to accept his fighting career was finished. But within a year, his father, his mother, and his brother all died, and Miller’s fragile optimism imploded under the weight of his grief and his fear he would never fight again. Unmoored and grief-stricken, he fell into a tailspin of drugs and alcohol. PAIN DON’T HURT is a story of incredible tenacity, dedication, and hard work—how one fierce competitor overcame repeated obstacles to realize his dreams. Miller recounts stories ranging from his childhood spent in the Steelers locker room to the surprising life lessons he learned from other fighters to his triumphant return to fighting in a Moscow kickboxing ring. He talks sincerely about family and fatherhood—of the hard lessons about masculinity and violence learned from his abusive father. He also offers an inspiring, exciting, and frank account of the fights—both in and out of the ring—that have shaped him. A deeply personal account of perseverance and determination--and guts, blood, and glory-- PAIN DON’T HURT is a mesmerizing story of how one man overcame the odds, time and time again.

Grayson Rorgers All Fired Up

Hot new Country fed by the wild rhythms of Classic Rock, Punk and Hardcore. From The I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Grayson Rogers, What’s a good way to say you’re excited? Pumped? Ready for action? If you ask Grayson Rogers, the answer is “All Fired Up”. And that’s exactly what their debut album is called. All Fired Up hits the world on September 16, 2014 with no shortage of energetic, fun, and refreshing songs. Ten tracks have been meticulously crafted to show listeners how they should be “All Fired Up” about this album too! “We have a blast at every show we play,” says Grayson Rogers, “from a little bar to a big stage, we bring a party each and every time. I get such a rush every time we play, and I do my best to make sure the crowd experiences the same rush I do. I believe this album will provide that rush every time you hit play.” Guitarist C.J. Sutton adds, “I live and breathe music, and I know it’s the same for a lot of people out there. We just want to connect with people on that basic level of loving music for what it is.” Their first album debuts a variety of country music styles, including some heavy hard-hitters like Too Loud, Outlaw, and Stomp On, some up-tempo pop tunes like Party Rocker and Blue Jean Baby, the must-have redneck rockers All Fired Up and Hillbilly Level, as well as the capable ballads Angel Girl and My Life Without You. “There’s a little something on the album for everyone,” says Rogers. The title track, All Fired Up, opens the record and wastes no time getting down to business. Short and sweet, this song encapsulates what Grayson Rogers is all about. “At our shows, we crank it up loud, and we crank it up early,” says Rogers. “It’s a party from the ring of the first chord. We wanted that same appeal on the album right from the get-go with All Fired Up.” Early fans of the band will recognize Too Loud, an anthem about living life with attitude, partying, and playing country music ‘a little too loud’ – the way it’s meant to be played, according to Grayson Rogers. Outlaw is the story of a man on the run, who has been able to keep those pesky lawmen off his tail for twenty years – though his life on the lam is destined for a grisly end. Stomp On is sure to make listeners stomp along as Rogers sings about rocking at a favorite bar to the thumping beat of the music. Party Rocker, a favorite among the band’s female audience, is a dance song written about a girl who is the life of every party. Also included in the collection is the anthemic Go Big or Go Home, which tells the listeners plainly to do everything “like you came to win.” “This song hits home for me. That was my motto during my football days – that all-or-nothing attitude. I take that mindset everywhere I go and with everything I do. In my mind, it’s the only way to do things.” Like most modern country, All Fired Up blends many musical styles to achieve the Grayson Rogers sound. At times, the guitars can be as heavy as any rock band, but the band is not afraid to pull back and show a softer side and it is unquestionably country, through and through. Says Rogers, “I definitely grew up on country music, like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, etc., but also on Christian rock and alternative rock. I would say Chris Daughtry is my favorite rocker out there right now. That dude’s voice is insane.” “I grew up with classic and progressive rock that my dad showed me,” says Sutton. “When I became a teenager, I got into hardcore and punk, and found there is a do-it-yourself mentality in that kind of music that really appealed to me. It made me realize I could make music my life, just like the bands I was listening to.” “It’s been a cool ride so far,” says Rogers, “blending our different influences into something new and exciting. I’m just pumped to see where it goes from here!” It’s safe to say that Grayson Rogers is ‘all fired up’ about the debut album! You can preorder it at www.pledgemusic.com/projects/allfiredup (along with plenty of other surprises), and you can get your copy September 16th when it is released to the public.

Chris Jericho Of Fozzy

Pro Wrestler Chris Jericho hits my I Heart Radio Studio. Time to crown the king of Unplugged and Totally Uncut!!!! Fozzy have announced they will release their highly anticipated, new full-length studio album Do You Wanna Start A War (Century Media Records) on July 22nd! Fans can now pre-order the 12-track album at iTunes and receive an instant download of the song “One Crazed Anarchist.” Preview the track now and watch the new lyric video premiering exclusively at Revolver. Recently, the band unveiled a new lyric video for the debut single impacting at radio now “Lights Go Out,” that can also be viewed online. Wrapping a spring tour that had them performing at festivals across the country including Rock on the Range, Carolina Rebellion and Rockfest along with many other shows throughout the U.S., Fozzy will be performing June 14th in the U.K. on the main stage of the Download Festival. A confirmed U.S. summer tour will be announced soon. Led by the inimitable duo of guitarist Rich Ward, co-founder of the influential underground band Stuck Mojo, and vocalist Chris Jericho, famed WWE superstar and media personality, the band Fozzy has really always been about one thing: having fun. Produced by Ward, Do You Wanna Start A War is the bands follow-up to their acclaimed 2012 release Sin and Bones, and sixth studio effort since 2000. Featuring 12-tracks, the new album includes the debut single “Lights Go Out,” alongside the title track and the return of the Theremin in “Bad Tattoo.” As described by Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, “Do You Wanna Start A War is dark, dense and sharp. Sonically and lyrically, this feels like it's going somewhere big. I love it!” What started out for guitarist Rich Ward as a weekend cover band, called Fozzy Osbourne, soon became an internationally signed act with the biggest star in professional wrestling, Chris Jericho, as its lead singer. With adopted stage names and an elaborate backstory written for the movies, the band’s early recordings consisted mainly of cover songs ranging from Black Sabbath and Dio, to Iron Maiden and Mötley Crüe. Jericho’s singing ability and overall passion for music makes one wonder just how he is able to find the time to excel in pretty much everything he does, while Ward counting Zakk Wylde and Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold as fans, is probably one of the greatest, and unjustly so, underrated guitarists in rock and metal today. It was these qualities that pushed the band to drop alter egos, get rid of the backstory and write original music. Over the course of the next seven years, the band did just that; three albums worth to be exact. The records were fit in between Jericho’s wrestling, TV and writing career. It wasn’t until their last release Sin and Bones though that the band really started to hit their stride. Jericho was winding down his involvement with sports, the band was touring more than ever before and their live show was as strong as ever sharing the stage with such music luminaries as Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Steel Panther, Shinedown, and many others. The entertainment, the fun factor, the showmanship were all there and in full force. More so than any point in the bands’ career. By the time Do You Wanna Start A War is released, a horde of seasoned and newfound fans will have seen Fozzy live and heard new tracks off the album. They will have witnessed one of the greatest performances they’ve ever seen, they will have witnessed one of the best frontman in any genre of music sing some of the catchiest songs they’ve heard in ages and most importantly, they will have had the best time in their lives doing it. Fozzy is Chris Jericho on vocals, Rich Ward on guitars and vocals, Frank Fontsere on drums, Billy Grey on guitars, and Paul Di Leo on bass. Fozzy: Do You Wanna Start A War tracklisting

Film Maker John Waters Returns

Absolutely one of the best in sharing American adventures. Film Maker John Waters returned to the I Heart Radio Studio. Unplugged and Totally Uncu Returning to Unplugged and Totally Uncut is filmmaker, writer, director John Waters who unveils the scenes of the book as they were happening. He really did thumb his way across America! In an age of RV's and motorcycles blasting gas fumes through the atmosphere. The real story isn't on the asphalt unless you're willing to walk a few thousand miles in a pair of shoes that have no clue which city you'll be sleeping in tonight. John Waters is putting his life on the line. Armed with wit, a pencil-thin mustache, and a cardboard sign that reads “I’m Not Psycho,” he hitchhikes across America from Baltimore to San Francisco, braving lonely roads and treacherous drivers. But who should we be more worried about, the delicate film director with genteel manners or the unsuspecting travelers transporting the Pope of Trash? Before he leaves for this bizarre adventure, Waters fantasizes about the best and worst possible scenarios: a friendly drug dealer hands over piles of cash to finance films with no questions asked, a demolition-derby driver makes a filthy sexual request in the middle of a race, a gun-toting drunk terrorizes and holds him hostage, and a Kansas vice squad entraps and throws him in jail. So what really happens when this cult legend sticks out his thumb and faces the open road? His real-life rides include a gentle eighty-one-year-old farmer who is convinced Waters is a hobo, an indie band on tour, and the perverse filmmaker’s unexpected hero: a young, sandy-haired Republican in a Corvette. Laced with subversive humor and warm intelligence, Carsick is an unforgettable vacation with a wickedly funny companion—and a celebration of America’s weird, astonishing, and generous citizenry.

Joe Elliott Front Man Of Def Leppard

Saturday night Def Leppard invades Charlotte with KISS. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with front man Joe Elliott!!!!! Every countdown I hosted in the 1980's and 90's featured the music of the band I'll always give credit to for saving American "AM" radio. I was that jock doing 7 to midnight radio that was quickly losing listeners to FM. Joe Elliott and Def Leppard pounded the hell out of those mono speakers with a rhythm and riff that invited listeners to keep true to the AM station that brought them to the party. Def Leppard is currently on tour with KISS. A radio station Program Director once told me that a DJ's collection of memories is 500% different than those on the opposite side of the speakers. Listeners live life. Radio on-air talent never forget the day they dropped a needle on their first ever Def Leppard record. Every song that day forward will be nothing but albums and inside sleeves bleeding with information jocks will try to force onto a seven second song intro. And every day thereafter the imagination of the on-air talent will forever believe they could have sold the band bigger and better.

Amy Smart from Among Ravens

Actress Amy Smart and Arroe. Something completely out of the ordinary happens during the interview that swiped the breath from both of us at the same time. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Amy Smart Set in the visually stunning McCall, Idaho, a holiday weekend is seen through the eyes of ten year old Joey and hosted by her mother and stepfather, Wendy (AMY SMART) and Ellis Conifer, a couple whose marital troubles are reaching their apex. Ellis is a trust fund baby, who is devoted to Wendy and Joey, but oblivious to the fact that his wife feels disconnected from him; Wendy, a former college radical, feigns a happiness she has secretly lost. Among the Conifer’s guests, are: Saul, the former husband of Wendy, a wanna-be intellectual and successful writer, whom we come to discover has never written a thing in his life; Will, the alcoholic ghost writer who is suffering from writer’s block; Emma, Saul’s wife and gallery owner, who is having an affair with Will. And Hal, the rootless hippie-life-coach and Wendy’s best friend. Into this combustible mix walks Chad, a nature photographer who is constantly putting himself in harms way through his childlike innocence and his clumsily placed camera Director’s statement - AMONG RAVENS (Russell Friedenberg and Randy Redroad) Can Nature Protect the Innocent? AMONG RAVENS is inspired by real events… when the friends-and-family tradition of an annual summer gathering at a lake house in Idaho turned into an awakening for the Directors. There, we witnessed dark secrets of close friends unraveling in a rather disturbing manner, and were shocked to see the behavior of grown, allegedly civilized, adults towards a likely harmless outsider. Moreover, we wondered about the impact on the youngest member of the group, a 9-year old girl, the writer’s daughter, and the effect our behavior was having on her. We were forced to ask ourselves how we, as adults, are seen in the eyes of the innocents and whether nature can truly protect them. Exploring themes of truth, friendship and betrayal, AMONG RAVENS examines the sense of entitlement and ennui that is the pastime of the privileged and the emotional playground of the bored. Through a darkly comedic lens and the innocent eyes of a child, the film looks at a group of moneyed elites and the fortress of opulence that has become their prison. When the story begins, Wendy Conifer is for the first time in her life asserting herself; trying to break the bonds of a loveless relationship. Wendy wants so badly to be a connected parent to her 9-year old daughter Joey, but she is incapable of it. She is a modern adult and faced with many questions that parents today can relate to as her identity as a mother, and as a wife are torn from her. Every single thing she defines herself as is not real anymore. In the midst of this crisis comes the enigmatic character of Chad, a strange and beautiful nature photographer, who wanders into their lives over a single weekend. In Chad, these bored and dissatisfied souls find a mirror to their darkest selves and an avatar on which to project their own fears and shortcomings. As their fears manifest, often cruelly, the cracks in their elegant armor begin to show, as each is gradually exposed by the childlike purity that seems to envelope Chad. All of this is seen through Joey’s eyes. As our witness and narrator, she attempts to understand the cruelties of life as her innocence slips away. By our story’s end, each of these character’s lives have been touched, if not irrevocably altered, by this messianic stranger, who may or may not be as innocent as they’ve imagined. The themes of AMONG RAVENS reflect the disconnection and discord in our families today. Families are losing their connective tissue, and when families aren’t whole, whether it is due to depression, disconnection or addiction, there is always the challenge that a more loving or dark entity will step in to provide the emotional support that we aren’t able to. At its heart, AMONG RAVENS is about the meaning of family and the moral compromises each character makes on their journey to find one.

Author Beatriz Williams

In THE SECRET LIFE OF VIOLET GRANT, Williams deftly merges history, political intrigue, and dual romances that unfold decades apart. She cleverly alternates between the complex politics of Europe on the brink of the FIRST WORLD WAR and a modern woman’s daring choices in mid-sixties Manhattan, and it all begins with a fifty-year-old errant valise carrying a lifetime of secrets. Living in a ramshackle Greenwich Village walk-up, recent Bryn Mawr graduate Vivian Schuyler has defied her posh Park Avenue family to pursue a Mad Men-world career at Metropolitan magazine. But when a battered old suitcase arrives in the mail, it hands her a provocative mystery as it serendipitously introduces a man who seems to good to be true, a man who might just be the love of her life. With a reporter’s determination to trace the musty valise’s origins, Vivian learns that it once belonged to a great aunt she’s never heard of—Violet Schuyler Grant. Vivian has never heard the name because it has been virtually erased from her family history amid rumors of a crime of passion committed while Violet lived and worked abroad. Vivian hopes to solve the mystery and boost her career with a splashy Metropolitan article on the subject, but she gets more than she bargained for when she is inexorably drawn into her family’s past. Instead Vivian is stunned by the startling world of Violet Grant, specifically Violet’s brilliant career as a physicist, her unhappy marriage to a cruel and philandering mentor, her unwitting affair with a British soldier-turned-spy, and a perilous escape to Switzerland as Germany closed its borders. Branded a murderess and an adulteress, Violet dropped out of sight and was presumed dead in the Great War that ensued, but now the valise contents propel her great-niece on a mission with startling revelations. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: The daughter of a British national, author Beatriz Williams has always been fascinated by stories of England’s Great War and the intrepid soldiers who marched out of its trenches and into oblivion. In fact her affinity for the period’s heroic values sparked a manuscript idea that won awards even before it was published. Williams’s evocative 2012 debut Overseas paid homage to those values in an engrossing and unconventional love story. The following year she published another international bestseller, A Hundred Summers, an unforgettable novel of desire and betrayal set against the real-life 1938 hurricane that devastated the lives and landscape of southern New England. A Stanford University honors graduate with an MBA in finance from Columbia, Beatriz Williams lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, with her husband and children. She is the author of the international bestsellers Overseas and A Hundred Summers

Weird Al Yankovic Mandatory Fun

Does anyone truly know how Al does it? Or is it best that we never know? He's back with another collection of incredibly mind blowing parodies. From the I Heart Radio Studio. I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Weird Al Yankovic! "Weird Al" Yankovic will be back next month with his first new album in three years. The veteran pop parodist announced over Twitter that the record will be released on July 15th, after teasing the news with several hints of a "big important cryptic announcement coming." The final tweet was an image of Yankovic dressed in what appears to be a Russian military uniform over the date in a Soviet-reminiscent script. Although the title and track list for the new album have not yet been released, a couple of hints have emerged. Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Yankovic had approached Iggy Azalea backstage at KS107.5's Summer Jam in Colorado to ask permission to parody one of her songs. Patton Oswalt also dropped a tantalizing clue on Twitter back in May. "Just listened to @alyankovic's upcoming album & I am in awe," he wrote. "He satirizes a band I've worshiped since the 90s & it...is...beautiful." The new release will be Yankovic's 15th studio album and his first since 2011's Alpocalypse. It will also mark the end of his current record contract, and he speculated in an interview last year that he might begin to focus on digital distribution after that, since it would allow him to be more timely and topical. In a June 2013 blog post, however, he clarified that he was merely weighing his options, and had no plans to retire. "I truly love what I do, and if I ever stop working, it won’t be of my own free will," he wrote. Yankovic just finished his Alpocalypse tour last summer and published his second children's book, My New Teacher and Me! a year ago. WEIRD AL QUICK BIO Weird Al” Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history with over 12 million albums sold. Now in his fourth career decade, he has released 13 studio albums, won 3 Grammys (with 14 nominations) as well as countless awards and accolades for his classics such as “Eat It,” “Like a Surgeon,” “Fat,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Amish Paradise,” “The Saga Begins” and many more. His 2011 album Alpocalypse (featuring the Lady Gaga parody “Perform This Way”) debuted in the Billboard Top 10 and was nominated for two Grammy Awards (Best Comedy Album and Best Short Form Video). Jamie Lynn Spears The Journey

Country Music has always been based on journeys. The paint on the highway becomes the ink in a writing instrument. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Jamie Lynn Spears At 23 years-old Jamie Lynn Spears is already a seasoned entertainment veteran. After five years focused on raising her daughter, Maddie, the Kentwood, LA native is back in the spotlight with a sound and style that truly captures her Southern roots. Her official music debut comes in the form of country ballad “How Could I Want More.” The intensely personal lyrics mixed with a simple song production portrays Jamie Lynn as wise beyond her 23 years. “How Could I Want More” was written by Spears along with Nashville songwriter Rivers Rutherford, who has also collaborated with Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, and Montgomery Gentry. Jamie Lynn’s experiences with Rivers and other Nashville writers, including Chris Tompkins, Liz Rose, Lisa Carver and Luke Laird, made for a master class in songwriting. Jamie Lynn learned about how to bring her stories to life through music and became a part of a community that helped her figure out the kind of artist she wanted to be. The experiences paid off - Jamie Lynn now has over 100 songs in her catalog. Her first single already has critical acclaim and cultural heat. It was named a Taste of Country Critic’s Pick and her journey has been covered by such outlets as E!, Entertainment Tonight, BuzzFeed, MTV, CMT and more! A full album is imminent and Jamie Lynn credits her producer, Corey Crowder, for helping her define her sound. “He is a huge influence, and mainly responsible for making my music sound like “me”- he really just got me,” says Spears. “It took me years to figure out my sound, and to have confidence in knowing what I wanted.” Choosing “How Could I Want More” as her first single was not an easy decision, but she feels that it is the right one because of the help and support of her team. “Keeping it honest is something that will always fall on me. I need to make choices I believe in, so I don't lose that relationship with my fans - they are the ones I want to stay connected to through my music.” says Spears Jamie Lynn began her entertainment career with a small part in Crossroads, portraying the fictionalized younger version of real-life sister Britney Spears’ character. Jamie Lynn then found a home in television; appearing on Nickelodeon’s All That and most notably starring as the title character of Zoey 101, for which she won the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award for “Best Actress” in 2006. http://www.jamielynnspears.com/

JA Rule Unruly

When you've been trained by the street. You live by what rules? From the I Heart Radio studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Ja Rule Born in Queens, New York, in 1976, Ja Rule made his way onto the rap scene in 1999 with his debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and launched the career of the rugged rapper with a grizzly voice. Ja Rule followed that success with several hit singles, including "Always on Time" featuring Ashanti and "Put It On Me." He has also faced legal troubles throughout his career, having received prison sentences for gun and tax-evasion charges. Musician and actor Ja Rule was born Jeffrey Atkins on February 26, 1976, in Queens, New York. Ja Rule was raised the only child of his mother, Debra Atkins, after his sister died from breathing complications when he was 5 years old. Because of the two jobs that Debra Atkins—a health-care worker—held, which occupied a large majority of her time, Ja Rule credits his upbringing to the streets of Hollis, Queens, and his grandparents. Ja Rule began his journey as a rapper in 1993. He got his rap name by partially by using his initials—Jeffrey Atkins—and by taking on the name "Rule" that his friend gave him. Through joining the group Cash Money Click in 1994, an 18-year-old Ja Rule expected to make it as a star. Unfortunately, after signing his first contract as a rapper, he lost the publishing rights to his album, which was never released, and waited several years before striking a deal with another record company. After four years of waiting, Ja Rule was signed to Def Jam Records in 1998, and made his radio debut as a featured artist on Jay-Z's single "Can I Get A...," during the same year. The heavily promoted single started to gather a buzz around the raspy-voiced rapper. The following year, Ja Rule released his debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci, with Murder Inc. Records, a label started by Irv Gotti under Def Jam Records. Venni Vetti Vecci was also the first album released under the newly founded label. The album, while not domiating the charts, still made an impressive showing for the debut artist. Ja Rule's album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling more than 184,000 copies in its first week. His ranking proved even more impressive when compared to other popular artists that released their debut albums on the same day, including Jennifer Lopez and Blink-182, who debuted at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively. The success of his debut album was only the start of Ja Rule's ascension in the music industry. From his debut in 1999 to 2004, Ja Rule released a new album every year—Rule 3:36 (2000), Pain Is Love (2001), The Last Temptation (2002), Blood in My Eye (2003) and R.U.L.E. (2004). Each album found moderate success, and his singles featuring pop/R&B artists such as Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez were particularly popular. Ja Rule's second single from Pain is Love, "Always on Time," featured R&B singer Ashanti, and was the rapper's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Top 100. After finding success as a rapper, Ja Rule tried his luck as an actor. He made his film debut in 2000 in Turn It Up. The following year, he made an enormous leap in his acting career by appearing the popular film The Fast and the Furious. Though his part in the film was minor, it allowed him to branch out into more noticeable film roles, including in Scary Movie 3 (2003) and Assault on Precinct 13 (2005), in which he co-starred with Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne. Despite his fame and fortune, in recent years, Ja Rule has found himself in trouble with the law on several occasions. In 2004, the rapper pleaded guilty to assault charges. He faced a $1,200 fine for punching someone in La Rouge Nightclub in Toronto; he had been shooting a film there at the time. In 2007, Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were arrested in Manhattan for the criminal possession of weapons. Ja Rule was found with a loaded and unregistered .40-caliber pistol in his vehicle following a concert featuring both artists. Ja Rule turned himself in and pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to two years in prison in late 2010. He began serving his sentence in June 2011. Just one month later, in July 2011, Ja Rule was charged with income-tax evasion. In March 2011, the rapper pleaded guilty to the charges, revealing that he hadn't paid taxes on more than $3 million of income from 2004 to 2006. He received a 28-month federal sentence. In May 2013, after serving 20 months of his two-year sentence, Ja Rule was released from a prison in upstate New York, permitted to serve the remainder of his sentence in home confinement—and to leave his home to fulfill his responsibilities as a performer, under the supervision of authorites.

The Silence Is Over Mick Jones and Lou Gramm Reunite

Be it great business or just old chums wanting to jam. Lou Gramm has confirmed that he and Mick Jones have reunited. The original seeds. The brain children of Foreigner. Won't be penning out tunes for the band though. Choosing instead to work together on each other's solo projects. Basically a swapping out of creative ideas. Both collections due for release early next year. The songwriting team of Gramm and Jones back together look great on web pages connected to concert ticket sales. But! Critics of Classic Rock are still left with a burning question. The material from 2003 that remains unfinished. Will it ever find its place inside the door of Music History. You know me. The moment I hear. You'll be the first to know...

Colt Ford

Country Music with its ever changing faces and sound. Most of us were there when Kid Rock took Classic Rock to a new high. Colt Ford is another mountain mover. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Colt Ford \ Not too many singer/songwriters can lay claim to the fame that they broke open the framework of a house built by tradition. Colt Ford knew the rules when shaking the Georgia clay off the path he was born to play. When it comes to Country Music. The only rule to follow. Is the vibration aching in your heart. If Country didn't come with rebels we'd all be two stepping to Beethoven and Mozart. Waylon, Willie, Cash, Kristofferson and even Hank Sr. Bled the blood of reality due to a passion to set free the harmony of what was being lived on the streets. Hip Hop isn't a 1990's invention. Nor should it be owned by the wisdom of those struggling to stay alive within the unwritten pages of every magazine. This nation has been consumed by what fits onto the front page of every news paper. When the reality of American soil gives off the scent of daily birth it produces vines that wrap themselves around popularity...giving life to new breads of exciting things to be. Sifting through the roots of music's living tree. The veins of what I call vocal pop. The choice to narrate what bleeds from your soul has been bursting onto the scene way before Rock began to roll. A writer sits on the edge of his or her creative flow and narrates the lyrics of a song until it fits each note like a pair of brand new socks. Colt Ford has heard the roar of the people. The channel changers basking in the hum of that Classic Country sound. While requiring a higher right to pound lung filled energy into a rap...be it low in volume or blasting through space like rage kissing the tips of an earlobe unconditionally connected to a soul governed by a strung out heart. Colt Ford has helped to push sound through a huge mountain of doubt... so much so... radio has changed its identity and style.

Performing at Charlotte's Comedy Zone tonight through Saturday. The best way to celebrate the July 4th weekend is to laugh laugh laugh!!! From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Comedian Kevin Bozeman!!! It was 1999, six years after finishing his collegiate basketball career at Division III Whitewater College, and bouncing around jobs that Kevin found himself in the real world with no real job skills and a strong desire to work an hour a day. What to do? Inspired by nights on the couch watching Def Comedy Jam and challenged by his roommate, Kevin decided to head over to nearby Madison, WI and try the “Open-Mic Night”. “I always was the guy who could make people laugh, and lets be honest I had nothing better going on”. Thirteen years later Kevin is still going on-stage, and he has found the job that fit his requirements. “For an hour a night I’m wildly successful”. With a smooth and clever style, a great smile and a contagious laugh Kevin has been entertaining in clubs and colleges across the country. In 2000 he was the winner of the Midwest region of the HBO “Comedy Competition” and flew to Los Angeles to compete as a finalist. He performed on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” in 2003, and finished 2nd in the Boston Comedy Competition in 2005. He was a semi-finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. Herb Gross And The Invictas

You're never too old to crank up a Marshall amp and pick a Les Paul. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with the biggest party rock garage band to live beyond the success of the Beatles. Telegraph

Def Leppard meets Van Halen with a twist of Fall Out Boys combined with Katy Perry. There's a hot new sound coming out of Nashville that's unplugging your past thoughts of what that city once produced. From the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Telegraph Marshall, Red and Rocco may sound like fictional characters, but in reality, they are the masterminds behind Nashville-based classic rock influenced pop band Telegraph. After four years as Northern Virginia pop/rock quartet, Sing Me Insomnia, brothers Marshall (vocals) and Red Cunningham (guitar/vocals), along with best friend Wes “Rocco” Beale (bass/vocals) found themselves relocating to Nashville and relaunching as Telegraph. With epic guitar solos, falsetto vocals, and catching melodies, Telegraph craft something unique yet familiar, and overall, undeniably fun. Drawing from 70/80s rock icons, Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Guns ‘n Roses, to current pop stars such as One Direction, Katy Perry, and Kelly Clarkson, Telegraph blend classic rock power and craftsmanship with modern pop production and energy. Their infectious songs earned them one of four prime spots in Belmont’s Rock Showcase, creating anticipation for their debut EP to be released in early 2014. The music video for title track “Rewind,” is already earning buzz online, with its perfect mix of nostalgia and pop culture causing viewers to obey the lyrics and hit rewind again and again.
