John Witherspoon

Once that door closes the atmosphere changes. These legendary funny people know that I'm not there to record their brilliant jokes. Christopher Andersen

Listen to "Christopher Andersen The Day Diana Died" on Spreaker. Twenty years after the Paris car crash that ended Diana's life at age thirty-six, the story of her remarkable life and tragic death still have the power to mesmerize. Following her storybook wedding to Prince Charles, she had evolved from "Shy Di" into the planet's most photographed, written-about, and talked-about woman--indeed, the most famous person in the world. For all Diana's global fame, much of the human drama that swirled around her death remained veiled in mystery and intrigue. Here, in the manner of his other New York Times bestsellers, Christopher Andersen draws upon important sources to re-create in vivid and often startling detail the events leading up to that fateful night in Paris. Among the many revelations: *Important information about Diana's final moments alive, the accident itself--and her last words *Prince Charles's surprising reaction to the news of Diana's death--including his shock the first time he saw her body--the Queen's bizarre request, and a riveting account of how Prince William and Prince Harry coped with their shock and grief *The broken romance that pushed Diana into the arms of Dodi Fayed, their curious relationship, and whether or not she truly planned to marry him. *A behind-the-scenes account of the battle royal that raged between the Queen and Prince Charles in the days leading up to the funeral. *Diana's spiritual quest, and the warnings that might have saved her. *Final answers to persistent rumors that Diana was pregnant at the time of the accident-and that she was the victim of a murder plot. *At the end, what Diana wanted for her sons, her vision of a future King William--and the American icon she most wanted him to emulate. Diana was, in every sense of the word, larger than life--a force of nature that, as the Royal Family learned, could be neither dismissed nor ignored. A bittersweet saga of triumph, love, and loss, The Day Diana Died captures those last days when Diana's star never shone brighter--and evokes the beauty, grace, heartache, and compassion that made Diana one of the most compelling figures of our time.

Chris Jericho

Listen to "Chris Jericho No Is A Four Letter Word" on Spreaker. Three-time New York Times bestselling author and six-time WWE champion Chris Jericho shares 20 of his most valuable lessons for achieving your goals and living the life you want, jam-packed with fantastic stories and the classic off-the-wall, laugh-out-loud Jericho references he's famous for, with a foreword by Paul Stanley. Chris Jericho has known what he wanted out of life since he was a teenager: to be a pro wrestler and to be in a rock 'n' roll band. Most of his high school friends felt that he lacked the tools necessary to get into either, but Chris believed in himself. With the wise words of Master Yoda echoing through his head ("Do or do not. There is no try."), he made it happen. As a result, Chris has spent a lifetime doing instead of merely trying, managing to achieve his dreams while learning dozens of invaluable lessons along the way. No Is a Four-Letter Word distills more than two decades of showbiz wisdom and advice into twenty easy-to-carry chapters. From developing a strong work ethic thanks to WWE chairman Vince McMahon, remembering to always look like a star from Gene Simmons of KISS, learning to let it go when the America's Funniest Home Videos hosting gig goes to his rival, adopting a sense of perpetual reinvention from the late David Bowie, making sure to sell himself like his NHL-legend father Ted Irvine taught him, or going the extra mile to meet Keith Richards (with an assist from Jimmy Fallon), Chris has learned countless lessons during his decades-long career. Now, in the hopes that those same principles might help and inspire his legions of fans, Chris has decided to share them while recounting the fantastic and hilarious stories that led to the birth of these rules. The result is a fun, entertaining, practical, and inspiring book from the man with many scarves but only one drive: to be the best. After reading No Is a Four-Letter Word, you'll discover that you might have what it takes to succeed as well...you just need to get out there and do it. That's what Jericho would do.

Nilofer Merchant

Listen to "Nilofer Merchant The Power Of Onlyness" on Spreaker. In THE POWER OF ONLYNESS, Merchant reveals that, in fact, we have now reached an unprecedented moment of opportunity for your ideas to “make a dent” on the world. Now that the Internet has liberated ideas to spread through networks instead of hierarchies, power is no longer determined by your status, but by “onlyness”—that spot in the world only you stand in, a function of your distinct history and experiences, visions and hopes. Merchant makes a powerful argument for why the functionality of society will depend on how well we develop systems to better support the purpose and passions of all people.

Maggie Lindemann

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Maggie Lindemann" on Spreaker. I often wonder if we truly knew the roots of what a song came into being if it would still be located on our present day soundtracks. Is it our interpretation or the artists way of dealing that puts the beats and riffs on the paths of forward motion. For Maggie Lindemann people endlessly dealt with her social network posts with these words, "She's just another pretty girl." It's her latest release on rBeatz Radio.

Michael Apted

Listen to "Michael Apted Director Of Unlocked" on Spreaker. Director Michael Apted was born on February 10, 1941 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. After studying law at Cambridge University, he promptly turned his attention to film, directing the popular English soap opera "Coronation Street" by the age of 22. In 1963, Apted was a researcher on "7 Up," a television documentary directed by Paul Almond that interviewed 14 seven-year-olds, drawn from every social class in London, about their lives, innermost thoughts and aspirations. On his own, Apted followed-up with the "7 Up" subjects every seven years, to create " 7 Plus 7" (1970), "21 Up" (1977), "28 Up" (1984), "35 Up" (1991), "42 Up" (1998), "49 Up" (2005) and "56 Up" (2012). Though his style holds true to his documentarian roots, Apted has also earned acclaim for his dramatic features. Early films included "Triple Echo" (1973) and "Stardust" (1975); more mainstream fare followed in the 1980s with two bios of note, "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980) about country singer Loretta Lynn, played by Sissy Spacek who took home the Oscar for the role, and the Academy Award-nominated film about conservationist Dian Fossey, "Gorillas In The Mist" (1988), starring Sigourney Weaver. He then told the story of Native American activist Leonard Peltier in 1992's "Thunderheart." His 1994 feature "Nell" starred Jodie Foster as a childlike forest dweller forced into society, and his thrillers "Extreme Measures" (1996) and "The World Is Not Enough" (1999) pushed his work even further into the mainstream. In 2001, the tireless director received winning reviews for the wartime thriller "Enigma" followed by the Jennifer Lopez revenge flick "Enough" in 2002. Other films he directed include: "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" (2010), "Chasing Mavericks" (2012) and "Unlocked" (2016). Apted has won several British Academy Awards for his work in television, which started in the 1960s to present day. Most recently, he's directed episodes for "Rome" (2006), "Masters of Sex" (2013), and "Reckless" (2014). ABOUT MICHAEL APTED'S UNLOCKED, OPENING IN THEATERS FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1st After failing to apprehend the terrorist behind a Paris attack that claimed dozens of lives, CIA agent Alice Racine (Noomi Rapace) is forced to live in London as a caseworker. Poo Bear

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Poo Bear" on Spreaker. Earning a Grammy award doesn't open the door for there to be laid back times. Poo Bear says you've got to work harder. Milo Gore

Listen to "Milo Gore Watch The Tide" on Spreaker. Watch the Tide’ is the debut EP from multi-instrumentalist, Milo Gore. Transcending Indie artistry with his admirable ability to combine organic yet nostalgic melodies, Gore describes his music as ‘rough around the edges but forever powerful and genuine’. The 6 track EP, produced by Max Waymark, displays acoustic qualities with refreshingly raw lyricism. Bursting with personality, each track experiments with the traditions of sound engineering, drawing influence from Folktronica artists Bon Iver and Ben Howard. The band, formed by a group of friends from University, provide undeniable personality in their musicianship. Gore describes the music as an ‘escape’ and believes that as a result, he explores his experiences within his craft. As an exploration of Mental Health, ‘Watch the Tide’ demonstrates a variety of themes, however, the band beautifully embrace their mantra ‘Forever Whatever’ and produce a sound that is playful, inventive and full of character. Gore comments ‘we jumped to recording in my shoebox of a rented room... a squeeze but we managed. A real test but we all really enjoyed it - good vibes and hard work pays off!’ At it’s heart, the defining element of Milo Gore is his integrity. After stepping away from initial record label interest in a previous band, Gore claims that ‘walking away from my potential chance, to make music I relate to more...that’s my biggest achievement so far’. Gore describes his new musical process as a free and organic style in which he aims to connect with his audience. With his rapidly growing fan-base and festival appearances this summer, it is undeniable that Milo Gore has a big future ahead of him...

Wolf Hoffmann

Listen to "Wolf Hoffman From Accept" on Spreaker. Wolf Hoffmann is the musician and the pivotal figure in the band Accept, whereas he generates the music and plays the guitar. He truly believes in his band and devoutly loves his work. If you ever attended Accept live show, you’ve seen it all yourself… But besides heavy metal, the guitarist adores the classical music. Every once in a while Hoffmann weaves some immortal classical fragments into Accept songs and he does it with a grand style. But that is not enough for him. In 1999 he recorded his debut instrumental solo album called «Classical», which fully consisted of classical stuff, played in Accept sound: groovy riffs and mind blowing guitar solos. The only Author’s piece was «Western Sky». Some of the album tracks were occasionally played by Wolf during Accept shows as a solo performance. The second Wolf Hoffmann’s solo album is made in the same tone as the previous one. The musician recorded 11 classical tracks, originated by Beethoven, Mussorgsky, Bizet, Vivaldi, Albinoni, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Massenet and Bach. The only fundamental difference between «Headbangers Symphony» and «Classical» is this time Mr. Hoffmann involved the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. And this had made it possible the album to sound monumentally, luxuriously and spaciously. It’s natural that before Wolf Hoffmann many have tried to combine heavy metal and the classics. Some of them succeeded, some are not. But in case of Wolf Hoffmann, this works perfect. That’s because he plays exactly what he has passion for. There is no hypocrisy in his «Headbangers Symphony». /Translation from Russian – Andrey Golovkin/

T Jefferson Parker

Listen to "T Jefferson Parker The Room Of White Fire" on Spreaker. A former Marine, Roland Ford has devoted his life to fighting the good fight—to doing what is right and just, for himself, his country, and the people he loves. But now, some 15 years later, after leaving the Corps and subsequently losing his beloved young wife in a plane crash, Ford is a broken man. To make ends meet, Ford has become a private detective near San Diego. He’s good at his job, and it’s earned him a reputation as one of the best trackers on the West Coast. On the outside, the mental-health facility known as Arcadia looks extraordinary, but looks can be deceiving. At its heart, Arcadia is essentially a prison—and now, one of its most enigmatic residents has managed to escape. Clay Hickman came to Arcadia three years ago. An Air Force vet, he served in the second Iraq war and was deemed a danger to himself and others, suffering from schizoaffective disorder and bipolar syndrome. He was violent and depressed. Or at least that’s what Ford learns when he is hired to find Hickman. What’s immediately intriguing to Ford is the cast of people surrounding Hickman, both before and after his escape. The mystery will truly unravel when Ford begins to suspect the truth: Clay Hickman’s military record is not what it is purported to be. Someone has fudged the truth, and whatever really happened—both to him and because of him—is perhaps the reason that Clay has gone into hiding and so many people are eager to find him… and why some will kill to get to him.

Great Solar Eclipse

Listen to "Great Solar Eclipse" on Spreaker. Maybe it's too early. But the most recent solar eclipse had to come with a mission and or story. Things so majestic and once in a lifetime don't appear in front of us for entertainment value. Rather than look upward at the bright light my choice was to sit in a forest. To observe nature during the process of the moons shadow silencing the sun's ray of light. What I fell witness to was a different vibration. All things in the forest except an owl became silent. There were no birds soaring through the tree limbs. There were no nearby deer or squirrels. The temperature dropped and then everything became faded. Not dark. But faded. I sat listening. To watch if God was going to whisper. To reach out and touch a spook if it escaped it's place in history. I was there to be aware. And what I found was a reason to keep evolving.

Meg Butterly

Listen to "Mag Butterly The Broadcasters Platform" on Spreaker. I live by these words, "Share your story or someone will write it for you." Sometimes you get tired of words printed on paper. Here is a video clip explaining the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAuCHGifvqY&feature=youtu.be Since 2001, Carl has fronted a 3 piece power trio: guitar, bass & drums doing the classically driven rock hits of ELP with NO KEYBOARDS. He has totally reinvented the music of ELP with this trio, which tours regularly around the world (including 5 hugely successful North & South American tours). If you can imagine, ELP with Steve Vai or Joe Satriani in the band instead of Keith Emerson, that is sort of what it is about. Jarrett Kobek

Listen to "Jarrett KobekThe Future Won't be Long" on Spreaker. THE FUTURE WON’T BE LONG centers on Adeline—featured years later in I Hate the Internet—a wealthy art student in New York City who chances upon a young man from the Midwest known only as Baby in a shady East Village squat. The two begin a fiery friendship which propels them through a decade of New York life punctuated by the deaths of Warhol, Basquiat, Wojnarowicz, by the Tompkins Square Park riots, and by the rise of club kid culture. Adeline is fiercely protective of Baby, but he soon takes over his own education. Once just a kid off the bus from Wisconsin, Baby soon finds himself at the center of the club kid social scene, cavorting with Michael Alig and James St. James at The Tunnel, Limelight, and Alig’s infamous “Outlaw Party” at a midtown McDonald’s. As Adeline and Baby both develop into the artists they never expected to become, Kobek pays tribute to the last gasps of the gritty, drug-fueled scene of the East Village as gentrifiers begin to trickle in.

Sean McFate

Listen to "Sean McFate Deep Black" on Spreaker. Writing withNew York Timesbestselling author Bret Witter, SEAN MCFATE burst into the military action thriller genre with his highly-praised debut "Shadow War" which theProvidence Journalcalled “A tour de force.”              Leaning on his experiences working in the private military industry, the U.S. Army and Amnesty International, McFate returns to the world of military contractor Tom Locke in DEEP BACK (Morrow, on sale 8/8/2017)).               After a mission goes horribly wrong in the Ukraine, Locke is on the run from his former employer Apollo Outcomes, a private military corporation led by the treacherous Brad Winters. A thousand miles away in Istanbul, the prince's brother receives a mysterious phone call, and moments later, he narrowly escapes a black ops ambush after a dash through the grand bazaar.             In Iraq, a stranger approaches Locke and offers him good money to track down the young prince, whom they fear has joined ISIS. What Locke doesn't know is that multiple sides of a clandestine war are scrambling to find the prince; that he may be holding the key to a new world order; and that his father may or may not be using him to topple the Saudi government. As Locke pushes deeper into ISIS territory, he must navigate both the on-the-ground battle lines and the larger Deep State war he has stumbled into yet again.

Best Behavior

Listen to "Alex From Best Behavior" on Spreaker. Compared to other rock bands, a crowd notorious for its outsize egos, Best Behavior's sense of brotherhood might seem too good to be true. Hailing from Brooklyn, songwriter and guitarist Alex Gruenburg, Jon Mann (guitar) Dan Jacobson (bass), and Chris Jimenez (drums), crash together with the kind of swagger that would be hard to fabricate. Alex is an eclectic, taking cues from the classics of surf rock, hip hop, and Britpop. Taken all together, their music chronicles something like a New Yorker's fantasy about L.A - catchy dance-meets-garage-pop melodies reminiscent of cinematic palm trees and sunsets. #nofilter, but everyone knows the view’s a little too pretty to be real. Absorbed in their early morning reverie, the band is always evolving. Best Behavior’s debut album, Good Luck Bad Karma, is the soundtrack to the kind of Friday night that starts with a shot of whiskey (no chaser) and ends with slices at dawn. Not an unremarkable evening by any means, but with their latest string of singles, they're headed somewhere new. It’s still a party, but it’s moved outdoors, with flashes of synth, neon lights, and spiked lemonade. It's Phil Spector for the digital age: the wall of strings has been replaced by a barrage of beats, bells, and xylophones. With Best Behavior, life imitates art. The party they sing about is the party they seem to ignite. A little something for the strange children of the world. With each wave of sound, you find yourself spirited away. The scene disappears, and you feel as though you have your thumb on the pulse of the night. You’re caught and conquered on a sticky ballroom floor. And still, all the way home, you'll blink out the hypnotic rhythm of rock ‘n’ roll, readying yourself for where their party will take you next.

Having earned the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards for artist and album of the year in 2013, Whipkey’s live band features some of the city’s finest. In a city internationally renowned for top-tier songwriting, Whipkey balances musical execution with artistic instinct. According to rock and roll connoisseur Tim McMahan, “He’s something of a throwback to a simpler time, before the advent of slumped-shouldered, indifferent indie hip-stars who go out of their way to ignore the audience with dollops of you’re-lucky-we’re-even-performing contempt. Whipkey, on the other hand, is the ultimate stage performer, not satisfied if even one crowd member isn’t “into it,” whether it’s on a tiny lounge stage or at a mammoth amphitheater. Whipkey was born for the arena.” – Lazy-i.com

Janet Gardner

Listen to "Janet Gardner Releases Rat Hole" on Spreaker. As the lead vocalist of the legendary female rock band Vixen, Janet Gardner's powerful vocals propelled Vixen to the top of the Billboard charts with crossover hits "Edge of a Broken Heart" and "Cryin’'" and AOR rockers "How Much Love" and "Love is a Killer." Vixen toured extensively, grinding out 200 shows per year, opening for the likes of Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne, The Scorpions, Kiss, and Bon Jovi.   In an era primarily dominated by male rock musicians, Vixen's all-female line up didn't come without its struggles. But their undeniable musicianship, matched with Gardner's unique and powerful vocal style, propelled the band quickly to Gold Album status and earned the band critically acclaimed success that is still celebrated to this day on the likes of Sirius XM, MTV/VH-1 Classic, and nationally syndicated specialty radio shows. Vixen, along with their predecessors, helped pave the way for the current wave and success of female-fronted acts such as Halestorm, In This Moment, The Pretty Reckless, and many others.   Teaming up with guitarist/songwriter/producer Justin James (who has worked with members of Staind, Collective Soul, and Tyketto), Gardner ventured into the solo realm to unleash a new side of her musical creativity. Together, Janet and Justin have penned a collection of emotionally charged songs with gritty grooves, infectious hooks, and inspired lyrics that merge hard rock influences from the last four decades.   The result is a perfect blend of modern hard rock with a touch of old school flare that will turn the heads of generations of rock fans. A sample teaser was put up on YouTube and literally exploded overnight. The power duo was quickly snatched up by Pavement Entertainment with a full-length release coming on August 18, 2017.   Janet Gardner has once again proven herself as a leader in the female-fronted hard rock world.

Joyzu

Listen to "Joyzu Take Over" on Spreaker. Joyzu formed of Quinton Pope & Carson Willms prove that true grit and uncompromised tenacity when it comes to creating music will progress their future bass sound into the ever changing landscape of dance music. Their combined passion for music and versatile expression as performers broadcasts their undeniable talent, and presents them as an unmissable act for 2017. This commanding talent has lead to the new release of their single ‘Running’ via TBM (Armada records) on January 5th, along with several other originals and remixes planned for the year. 2017 is unstoppable when it comes to Joyzu, they are re-writing the book and shattering conventions of proving-grounds as the ones to watch. ‘Hear you Say ft. They are cementing their name into 2017, so you better remember it.
