FELIX CAVALIERE and GENE CORNISH, two legendary founders of The Rascals, are
teaming up for the first time in five years for a run of summer and fall tour dates. Commencing
July 18 in Stamford, CT, FELIX CAVALIERE AND GENE CORNISH’S RASCALS will stop in
Westbury, Alexandria, Anaheim, Saratoga, Cleveland, New York City (October 26 at Town
Hall), and Louisville, among other markets. Joining the guys on this new journey will be Hall of
Fame drummer, Carmine Appice (Modern Drummer Hall of Fame, 2014, and Classic Drummer
Hall of Fame, 2013). See below for full list of dates, with more to be announced. Click here to
watch a promo reel.
CAVALIERE and CORNISH cite the fans and their love of the group’s timeless songs as
reasons for going on tour.
“I had an epiphany while performing in Hawaii last year,” says CAVALIERE
(singer/songwriter/keys). “It’s not about me–it’s about the fans. It’s about the music. I spoke with
Gene and he agreed that we can’t take any of this for granted anymore.”
CORNISH, who first worked with CAVALIERE and future Rascals singer, Eddie Brigati, in Joey
Dee &amp; The Starlighters in 1964, echoed those feelings. “There’s something magical that
happens when we’re on stage together,” shares CORNISH (guitar). “We’re going to celebrate

these songs for as long as the fans allow us to and give the fans a chance to see us perform
live.”
Members of the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of
Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, The Rascals are widely considered the best ‘blue-eyed
soul’ group to come out of the 1960s and their music, the soundtrack of a generation. The
Rascals have 17 Top 20 hits, seven Top 10 hits, and three No. 1 hits, including “Groovin’,”
“Good Lovin’,” and “People Got To Be Free,” the latter of which is celebrating the 50 th
anniversary of its release this year.
“Gene and I both thought there’s no way we can replace our brother Eddie, and Dino expressed
that he didn’t want to do it,” CAVALIERE adds. “We both thought of Carmine at the same time.”
During his first phone call with CORNISH, the iconic drummer, whose resume includes Vanilla
Fudge, Cactus, Rod Stewart, Beck Bogert &amp; Appice, Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd, wasted no
time saying “I’m in.”
“I grew up watching The Rascals on Ed Sullivan, I’m a huge fan,” says Appice. “These songs
are the soundtrack to so many peoples’ lives. I’m looking forward to sharing the music with life-
long Rascals fans, and to new generations of fans.”

Chuck Liddell

Cinedigm has acquired North American distribution rights to Silencer, an action thriller starring Johnny Messner and Danny Trejo and longtime MMA rivals Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell. A September 4 on-demand and VOD release is planned.
Timothy Woodward Jr.'s pic centers on a retired hitman (Messner) who must resurrect all of his deadly skills and fight a one-man war against his former employer who has kidnapped his step-daughter. Sean Mick penned the script, which pits Messner's and Ortiz's characters against Trejo's and Liddell's characters.
Woodward produced with Lauren de Normandie and Johnny Cleveland via their Status Media & Entertainment along with Terence Sims. Executive producers include Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Joe Listhaus, Patrick DePeters, Kirk Shaw, Drew Ryce and James Shavick.
"Status Media delivers another potent picture - Silencer is an explosive actioner with strong production values, high dramatic stakes and the added bonus of pitting legendary MMA rivals, Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, against one another," said Yolanda Macias, Cinedigm's EVP Acquisitions. "Timothy and his team are excellent partners, and we are thrilled to be working with them on Silencer."
Liddell beat Ortiz twice - in 2004 and 2006 - in two of the most high-profile fights in UFC history.

Michael knew he wanted to perform music from a very young age. Most kids were at home watching cartoons while he was listening to the blues and going to shows. Michael spent his life pursuing the blues, but the rocker lifestyle was proving to be too much and he eventually hit a low point. Michael later met his wife, who helped turn things around for him. The newlyweds do everything together, including jujitsu and kickboxing. Michael thinks his opportunity on "The Voice" is the perfect chance to kick-start their life together.

Their expert skills are put to use revamping hum drum spaces while continually reminding viewers that the best accent piece is the pair's signature endearing charm.
Carson and Thom are here to help fight the uniformity and ubiquity of American home design with a new business venture in "Get a Room with Carson & Thom." Carson has been bitten by the décor bug, and he's looking to his interior designer buddy, Thom, to take him under his wing and teach him the design trade from soup to nuts. Each episode will feature two clients looking to transform a space. Some have big budgets and some small, but they're all trying to create a beautiful room that is unique to them. With Carson's fashion sense and bold personality and Thom's designer acumen and friendliness, the bodacious besties will create breathtaking and affordable redesigns. These two arbiters of style work together, play together, argue, compromise and create spaces as only they can in their quest to make America chic again.
"Get a Room with Carson & Thom" is produced by Critical Content and Free Range Media with David Metzler, Tom Forman, Jon Beyer, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, Jason Hollis, and Grace Lee-Toumanidis serving as Executive Producers.

A group biography of '90s punk rock told through the prism of Green Day, The Offspring, NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, and more.
Two decades after the Sex Pistols and the Ramones birthed punk music into the world, their artistic heirs burst onto the scene and changed the genre forever. While the punk originators remained underground favorites and were slow burns commercially, their heirs shattered commercial expectations for the genre. In 1994, Green Day and The Offspring each released their third albums, and the results were astounding. Green Day's Dookie went on to sell more than 15 million copies and The Offspring's Smash remains the all-time bestselling album released on an independent label. The times had changed, and so had the music.
While many books, articles, and documentaries focus on the rise of punk in the '70s, few spend any substantial time on its resurgence in the '90s, Smash! will be the first to do so, detailing the circumstances surrounding the shift in '90s music culture away from grunge and legitimizing what many first-generation punks regard as post-punk, new wave, and generally anything but true punk music.
With astounding access to all the key players of the time, including members of Green Day, The Offspring, NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, and many others, renowned music writer Ian Winwood will at last give this significant, substantive, and compelling story its due. Punk rock bands were never truly successful or indeed truly famous, and that was that--until it wasn't. Smash! is the story of how the underdogs finally won and forever altered the landscape of mainstream music.
"An energetic history of the punk revolution of the 1990s, inspired by bands such as the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, and X...[Winwood has a] deep knowledge and thick dossier of interviews with these three-chord revolutionaries...This is a ripping fun music history and strongly reasoned argument for the place of oft-derided 1990s Cali punk in the annals of pop music." ―Publishers Weekly "[A] straightforward account of the improbably profitable second coming of punk rock...[Winwood] writes with authoritative enthusiasm about the 1990s rise of bands like Green Day and the Offspring and their broader relationship to the always-contentious question, 'what is punk?'...His knowing humor will appeal to younger fans and those who were there. A savvy reminiscence of the era when punk finally paid its debt to society."―Kirkus Reviews
"Through a series of interviews, Winwood documents the 1990s, the decade in which punk rock emerged from basements in California to the Billboard charts...The author thoughtfully maps the transformation of the punk rock ethos for both the record labels and the bands as they experienced an unprecedented wave of commercial success...Fans of punk and music in general will enjoy this work." ―Library Journal

The Renegades Trilogy continues in Archenemies, the fiercely awaited second installment in New York Times bestselling author Marissa Meyer’s young adult superhero series that launched in 2017 with Renegades.

With the blockbuster success of the Lunar Chronicles series and Heartless, Meyer has become one of the most sought-after authors in young adult fiction.

In her first series since The Lunar Chronicles, Marissa Meyer subverts popular superhero tropes while mining the grey area between good and evil in this wholly original superhero series starring teen heroes and villains. In the series, the Renegades (heroes) are pitted against the Anarchists (villains) in the fictional Gatlon City. Nova, who has been raised an Anarchist, meets Adrian, son of one of the greatest Renegades of all time, and together they must work together to help determine what responsibility people with super powers have to the citizens they govern, all while keeping their true identities secret from each other.

In Renegades, the first book in the series, Nova and Adrian (aka Insomnia and Sketch) fought the battle of their lives against the Anarchist known as the Detonator. It was a short-lived victory.

In Archenemies, The Anarchists still have a secret weapon, one that Nova believes will protect her. The Renegades also have a strategy for overpowering the Anarchists, but both Nova and Adrian understand that it could mean the end of Gatlon City – and the world – as they know it.

Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She’s the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon.  When one of the Grand Canyon’s mules is found stabbed to death and mutilated at the bottom of the canyon—and its rider missing— Pine is called in to investigate. It soon seems clear the lost tourist had something more clandestine than sightseeing in mind, but just as Pine begins to put together clues pointing to a terrifying plot, she’s abruptly called off the case.  If she disobeys direct orders by continuing to search for the missing man, it will mean the end of her career. But unless Pine keeps working the case and discovers the truth, it could spell the very end of democracy in America as we know it.

From award-winning ABC News Chief National Correspondent Matt Gutman, and written using exclusive interviews and information comes the definitive account of the dramatic story that gripped the world: the miracle rescue of twelve boys and their soccer coach trapped in a flooded cave miles underground for nearly three weeks-a pulse-pounding page-turner by a reporter who was there every step of their journey out.
After a practice in June 2018, a Thai soccer coach took a dozen of his young players to explore a famous but flood-prone cave. It was one of the boys' birthday, but neither he nor the dozen resurfaced. Worried parents and rescuers flocked to the mouth of a cave that seemed to have swallowed the boys without a trace. Ranging in age from eleven to sixteen, the boys were all members of the Wild Boars soccer team. When water unexpectedly inundated the cave, blocking their escape, they retreated deeper inside, taking shelter in a side cavern. While the world feared them dead, the thirteen young souls survived by licking the condensation off the cave's walls, meditating, and huddling together for warmth.
In this thrilling account, ABC News Chief National Correspondent Matt Gutman recounts this amazing story in depth and from every angle, exploring their time in the cave, the failed plans and human mistakes that nearly doomed them, and the daring mission that ultimately saved them. Gutman introduces the elite team of volunteer divers who risked death to execute a plan so risky that its American planners admitted, "for us, success would have meant getting just one boy out alive." He takes you inside the meetings where life and death decisions were grimly made and describes how these heroes pulled off an improbable rescue under immense pressure, with the boys' desperate parents and the entire world watching. One of the largest rescues in history was in doubt until the very last moment.

Matt Gutman covered the story intensively, went deep inside the caves himself, and interviewed dozens of rescuers, experts and eye-witnessed around the world. The result is this pulse-pounding page-turner that vividly recreates this extraordinary event in all its intensity-and documents the ingenuity and sacrifice it took to succeed.

DeAndrea Nico

<a class="spreaker-player" href="https://www.spreaker.com/episode/16258270" data-resource="episode_id=16258270" data-width="100%" data-height="350px" data-theme="dark" data-playlist="show" data-playlist-continuous="true" data-autoplay="false" data-live-autoplay="false" data-chapters-image="true" data-episode-image-position="right" data-hide-logo="true" data-hide-likes="false" data-hide-comments="false" data-hide-sharing="false" >Listen to "DeAndre Nico From NBC&#39;s The Voice" on Spreaker.</a><script async src="https://widget.spreaker.com/widgets.js"></script>

His blind audition: DeAndre Nico, 23, of Port Arthur, Texas, performed Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man.” Adam Levine turned at the first run-through of the chorus and was quickly joined by Jennifer Hudson. Near the end of the performance, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton turned too, giving DeAndre just the second four-chair turn of Season 15. Adam calls him “a beast,” saying his voice is “both rich and soulful.” DeAndre joined Team Adam.
His background: A year ago, Hurricane Harvey hit his hometown. He was driving in it, expecting a thunderstorm. Next thing, he looked out and his car was in flood waters. He says he was wound up trapped in a home for two days with no foot, no electricity and no water. Then came a rescue, which he calls an “amazing feeling.” Since the hurricane, DaAndre says all he’s been doing is gigging and sleeping on couches, because music is about all he has left.
On picking Adam as his coach: “I made a vow to myself, whoever turned around first, that’s what I was going to choose, and I stuck to my word. I’m a man of my word. Adam’s a great guy. He’s really cool. He’s really down to earth. He tells us what we need to hear, and he don’t cut no nickels with us. He just lets us know what’s up, ‘Hey, that sounds bad.’ He tries to help us in every area that he can. He’s trying to win, just like us.”

The film stars Paget Brewster(Criminal Minds, Community), Holly Taylor(The Americans)and Greg Finley(The Secret Life of the American Teenager).

Reedy Press is pleased to announce the release of our latest book, Nashville Sound: An Illustrated Timeline, by noted author and songwriter Don Cusic.
The Nashville Sound is a sound heard all around the world. It is not just the sound of country music; music from Nashville includes Big Band, rhythm and blues, gospel, Christian, jazz and classical. Nashville music goes back a long way and embraces artists and songs that have no borders. "Music City U.S.A." isn't just a catchy slogan, it is an accurate description of the sounds of Nashville from Davy Crockett's fiddle to the Fisk Jubilee Singers to rock classics from Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers to the Nashville Sound of Jim Reeves and Eddy Arnold and beyond. The Nashville Sound is a rainbow of music. Nashville Sound: An Illustrated Timeline explores Nashville's rich history in music that encompasses not only country music but also gospel music, contemporary Christian music, rhythm and blues, rock'n'roll and classical music. Nashville is a musical gold mine and this book follows the development of music and the music industry in Nashville from the nineteenth century until today.

Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release OUR COUNTRY: AMERICANA ACT II, the eagerly awaited new album from Ray Davies on Friday, June 29. This new studio album will be available on CD, 2LP vinyl and digital formats. Pre-order OUR COUNTRY: AMERICANA ACT II now at: https://RayDavies.lnk.to/americana-II
The first track, “Our Country,” premiered today.
The continuing story of The Kinks co-founder’s journeys through America, as depicted in his 2013 memoir Americana and last year’s album of the same name, OUR COUNTRY: AMERICANA ACT II is an album borne from Davies’ vision of America -- how it shaped him and evolved through the years. His reflections on his experiences in America instigate personal reformation, and eventually rediscovery and celebration of his own origins.
OUR COUNTRY, like its predecessor, was recorded at the legendary Konk Studios in London with guitarist Bill Shanley and The Jayhawks once again serving as Davies’ backing band plus a group of UK musicians. The album picks up several intriguing musical threads from Davies’ extraordinary songwriting catalog, from the opener “Our Country” – which is developed from a melodic theme heard in  AMERICANA’s title track – to reinterpretations of songs inspired by America and written for various projects over the years, including “Oklahoma USA” (first heard on The Kinks’ MUSWELL HILBILLIES), “The Real World” (from 2007’s acclaimed solo album, WORKING MAN’S CAFÉ) and “The Getaway” (from 2006’s OTHER PEOPLES LIVES).

OUR COUNTRY: AMERICANA ACT II was arranged and produced by Ray Davies; the album was co-produced by Guy Massey and John Jackson. All songs by Ray Davies.

Davies’ first all original solo work in a decade, AMERICANA was greeted with international critical acclaim upon its release last year. “The Kinks legend uses AMERICANA to blaze a path through both America's rock ’n’ roll history and his own,” raved Pitchfork. “Its back-to-basics energy and prosaic storytelling make it Davies’ best solo album in years.” Mojo called it “his most personal album to date” and Uncut said that “AMERICANA is a deeply satisfying reminder that Davies remains a songwriter with a huge reach but few equals”. “There’s a lot to chew on,” wrote American Songwriter, “but AMERICANA is a first class offering from one of the UK’s most feted songwriters and a worthy entry into Ray Davies’ rightfully esteemed catalog.” “AMERICANA is a big story,” wrote Consequence of Sound, “and it’s not one with tidy resolutions or easy fixes. But Davies is far less preoccupied with trying to tie up the loose ends than he is pointing out America’s dual narratives. There is the fantasy and there is real life, and more often than not they bleed over into one another. And once again, it took the efforts of one of our greatest living songwriters to spell it all out for us.”

Ray Davies is currently working on a theatre/film piece based on both AMERICANA and OUR COUNTRY. Watch this space for further developments.
