Funsho was born in Lagos, Nigeria, where he spent the first seven years of his life. His parents saved all their money to move to America. When his mom won the green card lottery, they quickly made the move. They became American citizens after 10 years in Maryland. Funsho comes from a musical family, as his sisters sing in church and his mother grew up with musical aspirations. He started getting serious about performing in college and began doing open mic nights, performing at schools and releasing an acoustic album (he learned guitar on his own). Funsho later graduated from the University of Maryland and now plans to move to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time.
