Dave Kindig

Dave Kindig is a self-taught entrepreneur and top car designer. From his childhood passion for Hot Wheels, Legos and drawing, Kindig has built Kindig-It Design, a one stop, complete custom shop where autos are turned into spectacular works of art. Before launching Kindig-It Design with the support of his wife, Charity, from a small garage in 1999, Kindig worked at High Performance Coatings in Utah. In the last 15 plus years his shop has grown from 4500 square feet and a handful of employees to a massive 27,000 square feet and nearly 30 employees in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. Guided by his imagination and keen sense of style, Kindig-It Design turns out some of the most creative, one-of-a-kind vehicles on the planet. Kindig always pushes the envelope on what is possible with car design and year-after-year his shop churns out coolest rides. Dave and Kindig-It Design have won a number of awards including: the 2012 Master Builder Award at the Boise Roadster Show; the 2012 Goodguys Trendsetter Award at the Hot Rod Industry Alliance; Utah’s Finest award at the Utah AutoRama in 2014; the 2015 Al Slonaker Award at the Grand National Roadster Show; and more. In Velocity’s BITCHIN’ RIDES audiences go inside Kindig’s sprawling business to experience how he and his team construct vehicles that make the car lover in all of us swoon. Working on all car types and periods, BITCHIN’ RIDES shows how Kindig and his team render, design, build and restore vehicles from the ground up before revealing the results to the car’s owner. In each episode, Kindig meets with clients, reviews the car, crafts a design plan, and then tears down, remakes and then reveals the stunning new car to its owner.
