Pegi Young

Listen to "Pegi Young's New Album Raw" on Spreaker. Young wrote most of Raw - released on February 17- in the wake of her 2014 separation and divorce from Neil Young, to whom she’d been married thirty-seven years. On the album Pegi is joined by legendary Muscle Shoals keyboardist and songwriter Spooner Oldham (Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Neil Young) guitarist Kelvin Holly (a veteran of Little Richard’s band), drummer Phil Jones (Tom Petty, Joe Walsh), and bassist Shonna Tucker (Drive-By Truckers.) The collection was announced with a feature written by David Browne in Rolling Stone. Recently, NPR Music premiering her cover of Ray Charles' "Do I Every Cross Your Mind." Alison Fensterstock called the album, "...a searching, tough and vulnerable memoir that bravely explores all the corners of heartbreak, from blunt-force anger to sorrow to brief winks of humor.” Pegi will be performing at SXSW and then touring the country. Entertainment Weekly recently premiered the first video. Pegi also got a fantastic review in the LA TIMES.
