Nate Bargatze

Listen to "Nate Bargatze From Standup On NetFlix" on Spreaker. Netflix has set a 4th of July premiere date for its new series The Standups, a compilation of completely new half hours from Nate Bargatze, Beth Stelling, Dan Soder, Deon Cole, Nikki Glaser, and Fortune Feimster. Taped just two months ago in downtown Los Angeles, The Standups is a bit of a companion series to The Characters, an anthology of half hours from character comics including Lauren Lapkus and John Early that the streaming network released last year. Amidst the unending list of high-profile specials Netflix is landing - from Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Louis CK, and so many more - it's clear they want to invest in up-and-coming talent, too. With the launch of The Standups, Netflix is entering Comedy Central territory by offering viewers the chance to discover new comics in an easily digestibly half-hour format - and they're giving stand-ups more opportunities by creating another platform for performers on the verge to widen their fan base.
