Not a stunt but a total blunder. Less then twelve hours after the Academy Awards I couldn't remember who won Best Actor. Something was horribly missing from this years presentation. It was there. But the total impact of the awards was nearly next to numb. Nothing. Talking with Ryan Jay about it and how he reacted puts many of us on the same path. What happened last night was pretty much like going to Las Vegas. What happens there stays there. There were very few oh wow moments. The question of why movies and actors got the awards sits in the reaction of the fans of films. I love it when theaters reopen their doors for the nominated to get another run on the big screen. Now that The Irishman didn't do as well as some predicted Regal and AMC can let go of their ego trip and put this three hour monster on their stage.
