Mari

While Chicago-born rapper/singer/producer, Mari, is relatively new to the music scene, he is already known for his “lyrically rich raps, melodic choruses, and spacey, soulful instrumentals.” Named one of the most slept on projects of 2015 by The Music Ninja, Mari’s EP, Living Colored, is a soul-searching journey, in which he weaves the experiences of his childhood growing up south of Chicago, attending college in New England and working a finance job in Buffalo, NY. Successfully juggling music and a 9-5, Mari took advantage of his vacation days traveling between Chicago and NYC to record music, shoot music videos, and connect with musically minded people in order to refill his artistic spirit and vision. Mari is currently spending most of his time in NYC, developing his sound in the studio and working alongside musicians, including Lion Babe, Rome Fortune, and Julian Stephen . He was most recently featured on Hak's (Ratking) debut solo project, June. As he prepares to release his next project later this year, Mari will be releasing a new song every Monday as a part of his#MariMondays series.
