Troy Landry Swamp People

Troy Landry is the star of SWAMP PEOPLE, one of the top-rated shows on HISTORY®, now in its’ Fifth Season. The series follows the day-to-day activities of several Cajuns living in the Atchafalaya River Basin swamp during a time of year that is crucial to their survival: the 30-day alligator hunting season where swampers make most of their annual income culling gators. However, it’s a high-octane, dangerous time where surviving the swamps is a daily battle. Landry’s family goes back three generations and as he heads into his 30th season as an independent alligator hunter, he’s proven that he’s "King of the Swamp". He’s caught giant beasts, roamed far and wide to fill his boat with gators and escaped harm on many, many occasions. But the hardest thing he now has to do before he hangs up his hooks is begin handing down the responsibility of the business to his boys. SWAMP PEOPLE is, at its core, a uniquely American story of a proud and skillful people fighting to maintain an ancient way of life in a rapidly modernizing world, despite the many perils and trials that stand in their way. TROY LANDRY BIO (FROM HISTORY.COM) Troy Landry’s proven that he’s King of the Swamp. He’s caught giant beasts, roamed far and wide to fill his boat with gators and escaped harm many times. As he heads into his 30th season as an independent alligator hunter, Troy wants to begin handing down the responsibility of the business to his boys. At the end of this season, it will probably be time to hang up his hooks and retire, but he can’t even think about retiring until he can firm up the future of the Landry family business. His biggest priority of the season—aside from tagging out—is figuring out who will join Jacob as a Landry boat captain in the future.
