Anson Mount

Anson Mount stars in the critically acclaimed AMC drama Hell on Wheels as Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who is struggling to escape his demons from the recently fought civil war. Hell on Wheels’ fourth season (airs Summer 2014) promises to be the most explosive yet.
Mount made his feature film debut as ‘Tully Coats’ in the independent film Tully (2000). He received widespread critical praise for the performance and the film won several Film Festival awards and numerous Independent Spirit Award nominations. Daily Variety said “with a cockiness and charm similar to Hollywood’s best leading men, Mount is stellar as a troubled soul…” and the Hollywood Reporter said “Mount is impressive in a meaty role, exuding strength and confidence that should win him ardent fans.”
Following his debut, Mount was next seen in Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000) for Columbia Pictures. He then teamed with Britney Spears in Paramount’s Crossroads (2002) directed by Tamara Davis. That year he also played opposite Robert DeNiro in the Warner Bros. film City By the Sea (2002), and Miramax’s Battle of Shaker Heights (2003), which was part of the innovative HBO series, Project Greenlight. He then appeared in In Her Shoes (2005) opposite Cameron Diaz, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006), and Poolhall Junkies, (2007)opposite Christopher Walken. Subsequent films included The Warrior Class (2007), Walk the Talk (2007), Cook County (2009), which he also produced, Last Night (2010) with Keira Knightly and Eva Mendes and Burning Palms (2010) opposite Zoe Saldana, Hick (2011) with Blake Lively and Chloe Grace Moretz, Straw Dogs (2011) opposite James Woods, Supremacy (2012) opposite Danny Glover and Julie Benz, Code Name: Geronimo, opposite Cam Gigandet, Safe (2012) opposite Jason Statham. Earlier this year, Anson starred opposite Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore in Non-Stop. Upcoming films include Visions with Jim Parsons and Eva Longoria and The Forgeralongside John Travolta, Christopher Plummer and Abigail Breslin. Anson also wrote, directed and co-produced the comedy short Last Time We Checked, (2013).
Anson is widely known to TV viewers for his starring role as Deputy District Attorney Jim Steele on the NBC drama Conviction (2006) from producer Dick Wolfe. He also starred in the The Weinstein Company’s TV movie Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden (2012), WB’s The Mountain (2004-5) and ABC’s Line of Fire, (2003-4). Additional TV appearances include NBC’s Third Watch, HBO’s Sex in the City, ABC’s Dollhouse, FOX’s Ally McBeal and the WB’s Smallville.
