Darren Davis New Jon Lennon Alice Cooper and David Bowie Comic Books

Bluewater Productions has a new comic book biography on the life of John Lennon as part of their popular Tribute series. Tribute: John Lennon, released this week is available in both print and digital. In the pantheon of musical legends, John Lennon is at the top of the mountain, if not the king of the mountain. From his time with the Beatles and his solo projects, he asked the world to ignore borders and divisions, and instead he encouraged the average person to embrace what brings people together. And when his life ended viciously from an assassin’s bullet in 1980, the music industry, and the world, lost an advocate for peace, love and true musicality. Comic book writer Marc Shapiro said he painstakingly worked to capture the essence of Lennon’s story. “I approached writing Tribute: John Lennon as an exploration of a life full of potential and promise that was, sadly, cut short,” said Shapiro. “We all know the importance of John Lennon as part of The Beatles. But I felt it was more important to concentrate on his post Beatles' life and career, both good and bad, so that readers would get the clearest possible idea about who he was as a creative entity, husband and father.” The 32-page comic book features the art byLuciano Kars and cover by the artist Graham Hill and will sell for $3.99. “The Tribute line of comic books tells the stories of people that have made a significant difference in the world while they were with us," says Bluewater publisher, Darren G. Davis. “It is a way for us to honor these people who have made a difference in the world.” Bluewater has focused on other music icons in the past such as Paul McCartney, Prince, John Lennon, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Keith Richards and more. Coming soon are comic books featuring George Harrison, Bono and Jerry Garcia. Also available from Bluewater is the 279-page The Beatles Experience graphic novel featuring the history of the Beatles. Bluewater Productions biography comic book series has been featured on CNN, The Today Show and in Billboard, Rolling Stone, People Magazine as well as many other publication and media outlets. You can download this title on ComiXology, DriveThru Comics, Google Play, My Digital Comics, Overdrive, Iverse, iTunes, Kindle, Biblioboard, ComicBin, Nook, Kobo and wherever eBooks are sold. DAVID BOWIE David Bowie features, six collectable covers by Michael Troy, Graham Hill, and George Amaru showcasing Bowie’s flamboyant fashion through the decades. Few artists are able to make the impact on both the worlds of music and acting that David Bowie has. As a longtime fan of his work in both areas, it was an honor and privilege to work on this book,” said artist George Amaru. ALICE COOPER Alice Cooper is a man, a band, and an idea that took on a life of its own, a voice for shock and glitter rockers whose influence created stars like Marilyn Manson and KISS. Behind the paint, the boa constrictors, and the staged executions is a man whose creative energies gave rise to a legend. Half-truth, half fiction, Alice Cooper defines fame. “It was fun doing this comic and i am a big fan of Alice Cooper since a teenager. Alice Cooper is a living legend yet his music still feels fresh,” said interior artist Jayfri Hashim, whose work has been featured in other Bluewater titles, including Political Power: Chris Christie. Written by Michael Frizell with art by Hashim, Orbit: Alice Cooper features, three collectable covers, one by famed rock artist David Frizell, whose work graces the interior and covers of albums from Avenged Sevenfold, Wednesday 13, and others.
