John Edginton

Genesis with Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel are back together. Inside the I Heart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with the man that brought them all together. John Edginton Shelli Weinstein @shellidw Showtime is getting iconic progressive rock band Genesis back together with its documentary “Genesis – Sum of the Parts,” set to premiere at 8 p.m. on October 10. The 90-minute documentary reunites core members of the British band, Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford to share their personal accounts of the band’s rise to fame from their beginnings in the late 1960s to their success through the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The biopic also includes previously unseen archive material and performance footage of the multi-platinum-selling and Grammy-winning band, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 after creating more than 15 albums and selling approximately 130 million worldwide. Music documentaries are hot properties on premium cablers these days — HBO will premiere James Brown documentary “Mr. Dynamite” on Oct. 27.
