When Jake was eight years old, his family of seven hit the road as a touring gospel act. After years of homeschooling Jake realized he didn't have friends of his own. At 14, the family settled in Kansas City, where Jake started to make friends, discover new secular music and live the life of a normal teenager. Just as things were looking up, Jake's mom became ill and was bedridden with Lyme disease and Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune disorder. As she got better, Jake decided to branch out from his family band and hit the road to play his own music. Now back in Kansas City, he works as a bouncer at a local music venue when he's not performing. Not only does Jake sing, he creates music, too.
