Hey it’s Arroe. This is Play It Forward. A look at the unexpected changes endured by entertainers, writers, camera people and all others affected but not infected by the global invasion of the Coronavirus.
Real people. Real stories. The struggle to Play It Forward.
Episode 40: To Meditate Or Not To Meditate
Over the past nine week, now more than ever a high level of everyday people have gone public with their personal battles with high anxiety. It’s very real. Fear, doubt, shame and guilt are tributaries of a mental condition that controls the way we think, breathe, act and react and ultimately make decisions.
Yes, there’s medication and educated professionals waiting patiently on the sidelines for you to step in their direction. Here’s one of the issues. In America there are 33 million unemployed people. That equals to 33 million plus uninsured people.
That doesn’t mean you still can’t get help. It just means more and more people sit inside their positions of social distance believing with time this too shall pass.
What I love about listening the hosts on several different podcasts is how transparent many of them are about having to deal with anxiety. I watch television talk shows and read popular websites covering the very subject. The issue is very real and by all means don’t let anxiety rip your life and dreams to shreds.
There truly are professionals waiting to help you move through this enormous invisible mountain.
One of them is Bob Roth. For over 50 years his life has been dedicated to professionally training regular people how to move into a life of meditation. Westerners have never felt comfortable with it because it seems to go against Christianity when in fact Jesus himself meditated and it says so in the big book.
I truly hope you pick something up from this conversation with Bob. There is peace and you deserve to hold onto it. It starts with a journey that will clear your mind body and soul. No meds. Only you and the universe. An amazing adventure.
