Dan Auerbach from The Arcs
The origin of the story began with Black Keys. But its what you didn't see that's been finally released. The shaping of The Arcs is based solely on a passion to explore new sounds while writing songs that take you for an extended journey. From the iHeart Radio Studio I'm Unplugged and Totally Uncut with Dan Ayerbach.
Just because The Black Keys are taking a break from making new music doesn't mean the members are taking time off. It was announced today that The Black Keys' lead vocalist and guitarist Dan Auerbach will now be in two bands. His new project, The Arcs will release their debut album Yours, Dreamily this year on Sept. 4 via Nonesuch Records.
Also in the band is Richard Swift, who is not only a member of The Shins, but is also the touring bass player for The Black Keys. The Arcs is also comprised of Homer Steinweiss, Leon Michels, Nick Movshon, Kenny Vaughan, and Mariachi Flor de Toloache.
It only took the band two weeks to record their debut album Yours, Dreamily. They recorded it in Queens, N.Y., Los Angeles, and Nashville. Once the album was recorded, it was mixed on a horse farm in Wales by Tchad Blake.
The first song released from the album is "Stay In My Corner." In advance of the album, they will release a 7-inch single of that song. Also on that 7-inch will be their songs "Tomato Can," and 'Outta My Mind."
The album Yours, Dreamily can currently be pre-ordered, and the first 500 LP copies that are pre-ordered will be autographed by the band members. Those that pre-order the album digitally will get an instant download of "Stay in My Corner." The album can be pre-ordered via the band's official website here.
The Arcs will be touring in 2015 to support their debut album Yours, Dreamily. No official tour dates have been announced, but it was revealed that touring details will be announced soon.
