While momentum builds toward impeachment in Washington, Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg are leading the charge from the outside. Deemed the “breakout stars of the new activists” (The Economist), their organization, Indivisible, stood on the front lines in the first years of Trump. They helped defeat Trumpcare. They stoked mass opposition to extremist immigration policy. And crucially, they helped ignite 2018’s Blue Wave. Trump’s removal is the latest step in their urgent cause to revitalize American democracy.
In WE ARE INDIVISIBLE: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump (One Signal Publishers; Hardcover; November 5, 2019), Levin and Greenberg draw on their astonishing success and first-hand experience leading the movement, explaining their origin story, sharing the lessons they’ve learned about building and applying power, and laying down the blueprint for how to win the coming fight for the future of our political system.
Democracy is in crisis: city councils, statehouses, courts, the senate and the White House—wealth and entitlement has put a chokehold on American leadership. But that grip stands no chance against a motivated, informed, and organized population, and WE ARE INDIVISIBLE will be the manifesto that helps Americans join Indivisible in this imperative work.
100% of the authors’ proceeds of WE ARE INDIVISIBLE will go to the organization’s Save Democracy Fund, a new fund set up to support the movement and whose dollars will be used to support an expanded Distributed Fundraising program and pro-democracy reform campaigns at the state, federal, and presidential levels. Just to reiterate: none of the proceeds from either the advance or the book sales will go to the authors – they’re directing it all to the movement.
In case their work isn’t impressive enough, Leah and Ezra have been listed in TIME’s 100 of the most influential people of 2019, in the Politico 50 list, GQ’s 50 Most Powerful People in Trump’s Washington, and Roll Call’s People to Watch in 2019. They are young people on a mission to create change and save our democracy-in-crisis by standing up for justice and inclusion, and WE ARE INDIVISIBLE is the powerful guide we need to join them.
