Martin Sandler is a five time Emmy-award winning TV writer and author of more than 70 books.  He just won the 2019 National Book Award for Young people’s Literature for his book 1919: The Year that Changed America.  In 1919, WW1 was over, and America was experiencing severe racism, fear of communism, horrid working conditions, the start of prohibition, and women’s suffrage.  And 100 years later, in 2019, many of these issues are more relevant than ever!
