Martin Sandler is a five time Emmy-award winning TV writer and author of more than 70 books. He just won the 2019 National Book Award for Young people’s Literature for his book 1919: The Year that Changed America. In 1919, WW1 was over, and America was experiencing severe racism, fear of communism, horrid working conditions, the start of prohibition, and women’s suffrage.
