Christopher “Chris” Tucker is an international award winning actor and comedian best known for playing the role of Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour film series. Tucker became a favorite on Russell Simmons’ HBO Def Comedy Jam in the 1990's and came to prominence in the 1995 film Friday alongside Ice Cube. Next he co-starred and executive produced Money Talks with Charlie Sheen and then appeared in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element. In 2006, he negotiated an unprecedented $25 million salary to appear in Rush Hour 3, which at the time made him the highest paid actor in Hollywood.
To date, Chris Tucker has starred in films that have collectively grossed over one billion in box office sales world-wide. He co-starred in the 2013 Oscar- nominated film Silver Linings Playbook with Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. His stand-up comedy tour has received rave reviews all over the world including, Asia, UK, Australia, and the Middle East. He is currently kicking off his 2015 U.S. comedy tour and his newest project is his first standup film, Chris Tucker Live that will be released in early 2015. Tucker is also a dedicated humanitarian, spending much of his spare time traveling around the world, doing philanthropic work to make a difference.
