Strange Magic, a new animated film from Lucasfilm Ltd., is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night's Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic bring to life the fanciful forest turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects. Directed by Gary Rydstrom (Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation, Lifted) from a story by George Lucas, Strange Magic will be released by Touchstone Pictures on Jan. 23, 2015.
Raised by his artist parents in Cornwall, a small beach town outside of London, SAM PALLADIO, the voice of Roland in Strnge Magic, stayed nearby to pursue his career as a performer, studying theatre and music at Rose Bruford Drama College.
After graduating, Palladio found himself showcasing his talents in the original cast for the musical "Dreamboats & Petticoats," touring the UK before bringing it into London’s West End.
Palladio’s television credits include his role as Stoke in seasons two and three of Showtime’s "Episodes," starring Matt LeBlanc. He appears in season four, which premiered Jan. 11, 2015. Additionally, Palladio has had appearances on the UK small screen on shows "Doctors" and "The Hour." He earned critical attention when he appeared in the 2012 television pilot "Nashville." His performance in the soulful rendition of "If I Didn’t Know Better" immediately captivated audiences and ignited his music career. Palladio, who plays guitar, drums and piano in addition to performing and writing his own music, performs on "Nashville’s" season one and two soundtracks, which have sold more than 2 million individual tracks. He is currently shooting season three of the series.
Last year, Palladio appeared in the film "Runner, Runner" opposite Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck and Gemma Arterton.
