Rising star, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is prepared for her Hollywood entrance with the upcoming April 27 premiere of her new Netflix series, Never Have I Everpremiere. Never Have I Ever is a unique coming-of-age comedy about the complicated life of a first-generation Indian American teenage girl, Devi, and her two best friends as they navigate life during their awkward teenage years. Maitreyi plays Devi, a super-smart, popularity-obsessed, and boy-crazy and vows to overhaul her social and romantic status at the start of sophomore year. She forges ahead with blind optimism despite the deck stacked against her - socially challenged best friends, an overbearing mom, and an aggressive nemesis. The series is created and executive produced by Mindy Kaling. and Lang Fisher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project) with Fisher as serving serves as showrunner. 

Maitreyi is an 18-year-old Mississauga, Ontario, native whose life seemingly changed overnight. The recent high school graduate is having a Cinderella moment after being cast in the lead role as Devi. She was selected from a social media casting call that included more than 15-thousand young women. When Maitreyi is not acting, she is an advocate for public education, gender equality, and authentic representation.
