I'm blessed with the opportunity to sit down and share conversations with a lot of motivational leaders and masters at achieving success. I love to listen to them speak about their personal journey. The value of knowing yourself before anyone else. Even Oprah speaks a lot about this claiming that in order to locate anything positive or success filled moments in your life you have to be strong in yourself. On this podcast episode we dive into those moments when discovering yourself is interrupted by those around you. Those who don't want you to change. Those business decision makers that need this side of you and not what you would like to bring. I'm very transparent with my forty one years in radio. I share this with every broadcasting class I'm invited to. I can't and won't see myself as a Broadcaster because it took 36 years of doing what everybody else wanted to realize I wasn't bringing anything to the industry. The business of self is knowing you're making a difference not just in the presence of now but the new Now's located on tomorrows growth. For those 36 years years I was stuck in the middle of the business of everybody else's self. Which I saw as teamwork. Remember there are no I's in teamwork. Yes there are. Individuals. It's like when two people get married. You don't lose your individual self. You grow in love by making sure all that you brought to the relationship is vibrant with who you were and have grown into. The business of self during this Covid-19 mess is so important. You aren't going back to the same businesses you came from. The physical and mental structure of everything has and will continue to change. Teamwork will keep those doors open. But its going to require the new individual you've become and it can't be a sold out personality or you'll be right back to hating your job or wondering if there's any future for you. It's a new age and rebirth of who we are as a working community. It's time to celebrate collaborations with leadership that helps employees locate new levels of success and not the same ole process. I went into every classroom knowing the art I brought to radio would be given away to every student. I truly dreamed of being replaced by one of them. To know how your lessons and challenges brought forward an individuals passion to find their own success as an individual. Now create a community.
