I think I helicopter parent myself. Through daily habit I know where I should be at what time and how my mindset needs to be present. When it isn't the mission of the moment is to find focus. As this nation gets back to its open field of jobs, entertainment and exploration I've taken note of how many of us are locked more than ever to the face of our smart phones. Our arms are aching from holding them. Our necks are killing us because we're constantly looking down. Our bodies react when we try to stay away from the internet but hold off for another time. That's what this podcast episode is about. My writing self wasn't in the mood to put words on paper. It wanted to scan Facebook. My soul or inner core wanted no part and strongly urged the other department of our system of choice to walk away from the most negative place to be present today which is the internet. So many people speak of being one with their mind body and soul. Truth is... there's nothing one about it. They are three completely different operations trying to run your decisions, recoveries, personal growth and whatever else you've been shoving into it by way of breaking free of this Coronavirus nightmare. What do we do? If it's not picking up the smart phone its popping the television on to catch the news or watch daytime programming all in the name of comparing your life to others who seem to be having a worse day than you. Treating and respecting the mind body and soul as three separate energies helps you locate awareness which invites a reason to remain peace filled. My body knew how it would ache if I went to Facebook. The news on there is fake and the emotional weight of others having a tough time is too hard to carry. The soul knew if the writer went to those digital pages it wouldn't come back with a message of hope, faith, compassion and a willingness to have a greater day. The writer fought. A spoiled child. It happens to you. You just blame yourself for being in a bad mood or your stomach hurts so I guess I'll just sit here and do nothing til I get my way. Mindfully being aware of your presence in the present helps guide your decisions to a safer place of peace and not pieces. Respecting your bodies actions and reactions keeps the bad thoughts or worry from entering. Be aware of how you're shoving information and emotion into that think tank. Have a conversation with all three of your departments. Your mind body and soul may not agree with each other but at least you'll have better control of the moment. Be present. Stay present. Grow forward and beyond.
